Experience the immersion of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
Dolby Atmos and DTS:X use ceiling or up-firing speakers for three-dimensional and fully immersive sound. Whether it’s rain falling in a tropical jungle or the intense sound of overhead gunfire, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X put you in the centre of the action.
Extra height, without the speakers - Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Virtual:X
As impressive as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X sound, it’s not always possible to accommodate the extra speakers. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Virtual:X Height Virtualisation technology go some way to help fix. Play any Dolby format and enjoy a more immersive sound with virtual height enhancement – using your existing speakers. DTS Virtual:X also creates a more enveloping sound from any DTS codec. Compatible with 2.1, 5.1 or 7.1 speaker configurations, DTS Virtual:X gives the impression of height and immersive sound.
Ready for 8K, with dedicated HDMI input
Featuring a dedicated, 8K compliant HDMI input and matching output, this Denon AVR is ready for the next generation of TV. Not only does the amp pass through 8K/60Hz signals, but it also upscales HDMI signals to the 8K standard, too – helping you make the most of your 8K TV with 4K UHD media. If you’ve not yet made the jump to 8K TV, the socket also handles up to 4K/120Hz signals, for the highest quality pass through and upscaling with 4K UHD.
Supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR
Equipped with a flexible 6 in/2 out HDMI interface, the AVR-X2700H also supports a wide range of High Dynamic Range video formats. These include Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. It also supports HDR10+, which enhances picture realism by sending dynamic Meta data to your TV, as well as Dynamic HDR. In short, whatever the format used by the film, game or stream, the Denon supports it.
Serious about gaming
The latest HDMI support also marks a big improvement in gaming. 4K/120Hz and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) support maximise resolution and clarity. Quick Frame Transport (QFT) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) help eliminate lag and frame tearing, giving you a smoother, more responsive gaming experience.
Now works with all the voice assistants
The AVR-X2700 adds Siri and Google Assistant to Alexa, making it more widely compatible with voice assistants than before. For Alexa or Google Assistant control, simply download the HEOS app. Pair your Echo device if you’re using Alexa and you’re good to go – adjust the volume, skip to the next track and switch inputs simply by asking Alexa or Google. For control via Siri, simply link the amp via Apple AirPlay 2 and enjoy voice interaction and AirPlay 2 multi-room support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NaughtyRich from Fantastic bit of kit and amazing sound Purchased over the festive break and very happy. Arrived on time and no issues with delivery. Easy to setup. Only one minor point in that I didn't realise the receiver was unable to switch from component RGB to HDMI out. As I still have a legacy Xbox 360 with only component RGB and no HDMI out. Sentimental so I need to get a converter. Otherwise loving it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by GHB Matt from Good surround sound package I bought this AVR on the basis of What Hi-Fi reviews and combined it with the Monitor Mass 5.1 speaker package on the recommendation of the team at the Southampton store. I upgraded my Blu-Ray player to a Sony UBP X-800 to ensure that I could get the best Dolby Atmos sound. The package was fairly quick and trouble-free to set up and delivers excellent sound quality for my movies and music. I am sure it will encourage me to watch much of my movie collection again to experience them with the surround sound.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Foxtrotter from Somewhat disappointed Replaced a good Pioneer AVR with this Denon, just to get Atmos. Slightly disappointed with overall sound. Setup is a pain, as it seems to drop out of the setup function when making certain adjustments. WiFi connection is hit and miss. One day it connects, next day it doesn't even though its just 2metre from router. Dislike the volume adjustments. 0 to 99 in 0.5 steps thats 200 settings! Volume seems to drift. Continuously having to adjust volume whilst watching a movie. When watching an Atmos program, sometimes it detects Atmos, sometimes it doesn't.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jumping from Great receiver for the price I bought this to replace my ageing AVR-X2300W receiver and I'm very pleased with the upgrade it is a nice upgrade on the old device giving me yet keeping the same Denon feeling so if you have had a Denon device before it should be very easy to setup and get to work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by VCP1 from Works as expected Once set up (which is easy) it looks slick and function smoothly. Things I like: audio is more than adequate for my humble ears, dimming switch for the front display is nice to darken the whole cinema. Areas for improvement: GUI is very basic and low res (although you rarely need to enter it beyond setting it up and adjustment), the green power LED is quite glaring in dark rooms and can't be turned off, even with the dimmer switch

Rated 1 out of 5 by PaulB1969 from Really disappointing I bought this in Sept 21. Set everything up and was after establishing how different inputs needed to be configured, got a decent setup for films and PS5 via a TW9400. Went to turn the amp on today - No sound. Tried 3 sources, no sound. Rang the store who suggested a factory reset. Reset complete - no sound, not even a test tone. Unit due to go back but because it’s over 30 days old, will be repaired and not replaced! Last AV Receiver was a Yamaha - no issues in over 8 years, only upgraded for 4K and Atmos. Now have to wait and then go through all the setup again. Very disappointing and a total waste of time given the long wait for item, the £50 price hike and that I’m going to be without now. Wish I had bought a Yamaha even though it was more!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wisden1979 from Excellent replacement for my old Sony AV receiver I bought a new tv (LG C1 OLED) and realised my old Sony AV couldn’t put through a UHD/4K signal from skyQ box and didn’t have the ARC sound function. As it was Christmas I plumped for the Denon. Only entry level, but amazed by the sound and features, picture on the tv amazing and all round high quality. Very pleased with my purchase! Excellent delivery service given the time of year.
