ELAC Debut ConneX DCB41 (Walnut)
Powered Bluetooth Speakers Per Pair
£399
”Compact, great sounding and affordable, these are the powered speakers to get in 2023.” ’What Hi-Fi?’ 2023 award-winner.
Cut out the boxes, not the sound
Within two, compact speakers, the Elac Debut ConneX DCB41 packs everything you need for amplified sound – just add your music source! Choose from wireless Bluetooth sound and a wide range of sockets, including HDMI for TV, USB and digital and analogue inputs.
Top quality, Elac sound
Elac speakers are a leading brand, which gives the Debut ConneX a headstart in terms of sound quality. Soft dome tweeters provide a smooth, detailed response at the top-end, while mid-range and bass are expertly handled by the Elac’s polypropylene woofers. Each speaker features its own, 50 watt Class D amplifier. Acoustically matched to the ConneX’s drive units, these highly efficient amps help the speakers pack a surprising punch.
Enhanced bass
For a significant bass boost, switch on Elac’s proprietary XBass Enhancer. Working in partnership with this, the extended bass port design enhances the bass response whilst minimising ventilation noise. For even more bass, simply add your choice of active subwoofer via the sub output.
Connect your TV
Working as a huge upgrade to most TV speakers and as a flexible alternative to a soundbar, the DCB41’s HDMI ARC socket is the ideal way to connect your TV. As this is an ARC (Audio Return Channel) socket, your TV’s remote control still operates the Elac’s volume, making it easy for everyone to enjoy better sound, without the need for extra remotes.
Perfect for your laptop or PC
Connect a PC or laptop via the USB connection and enjoy your stored music files or favourite music streaming services. Compatible with Hi-Res music files up to 24-bit/96kHz, this is the best way to hear your music at its most natural and detailed.
Ideal for your turntable or other hi-fi source
With a set of RCA inputs, you can plug in a conventional hi-fi source, such as a CD player, too. Alternatively, switch on the RCA phono and the input becomes compatible with MM cartridge-equipped turntables – making these speakers the perfect solution for vinyl playback. An optical input is also standard – perfect for a games console, set-top TV box or even a Blu-ray/DVD/CD player.
Bluetooth for wireless connectivity
Once you’ve exhausted the Elac’s range of wired connections, there’s still the wireless Bluetooth to consider. Compatible with aptX technology, this wireless link gives the potential for CD-matching sound quality. Simply pair with your smartphone or tablet and enjoy effortless, wireless music streaming.
Upgrade your sound from every source, with the Elac Debut ConneX DCB41.

Awesome speakers
I bought these about three weeks ago and am so impressed. They sound great, Richer Sounds beat a price I’d found elsewhere and they were delivered the next day. Really brilliant.

Not suitable for us.
I’m taking these back to Richer tomorrow.
Bought them to try to improve clarity of speech over the Samsung TV speakers.
We’ve tried them for two weeks but were both very relieved to disconnect them as the bass was simply overpowering and speech audibility was probably worse than the TV speakers!
Tried them on the floor and on their sides on a shelf below the TV.
This was using eARC to connect to TV.
Radio 3 over Bluetooth was pretty good so the excessive bass may have been down to the HDMI output from the TV.

Excellent Speaker, good for turntables.
Amazing sound at great price. Replaced an older set of edifiers with these after feeling disappointed with a lack of detail when listening to good recordings. It is night and day with this set, bass all the way through to higher pitches are detailed and precise making for great listening. Paired with an LPX60 Turntable and found the speaker's built in phono sounds better than that of the LPX60, so extra pleased.

A wonderful partnership
Bought these to pair with my late father in law’s rega planar 3 turntable, and I can honestly say I am impressed with their clarity and sound stage projection. Good bass and treble detail for their size. A fitting tribute to a man who loved his vinyl.

Great sound for price.
Bought as an Xmas present to self. Really pleased with them. Good detail in the sound. Decent base considering the size and price. They fill a small room very well. Easy hook up to phone Bluetooth. Exactly what I was looking for. Great sound for the price

Good but not wonderful
Reviews are ecstatic but I think they are overhyped. I have them linked to a desktop taking the input from the usb. They are good but not as mind-blowing as I'd hoped. Lack of instruction manual is an irritant - without it, getting the input sorted was a hassle and had to resort to online manual.
Build quality is decent but it's a wraparound foil finish that's ok but the join is clearly visible.
Yes they do sound decent and are an improvement on the old Microlab fc330s I had but they aren't the best thing since sliced bread.

Early days but very pleased
My PC's sound system was never that good so when one channel failed I decided to treat my self with the Connex. Ive only had them a day but so far I'm very pleased. At first I thought the high notes a little harsh and they might need breaking in, then I had an inspiration and took my hearing aids out. Problem solved Doh. They are pricey for PC speakers but I spend a lot of time on the PC and enjoy my music, from Classics, Jazz to Motown. Lots more experimenting to do.
