Product Information
Featuring a True Balanced Connection, including compatible cartridge, the Pro-Ject X1 B makes high-end turntable tech more affordable than ever.
True Balanced Connection for the purest sound
As a first for a turntable in its class, the Pro-Ject X1 B benefits from a True Balanced Connection. The balanced output uses a mini-XLR socket to create a studio-quality link when used with a suitable phono pre-amp (compatible models include Pro-Ject Phono Box S3 B and Phono Box DS3 B). A balanced connection resists noise from wi-fi, Bluetooth and other airborne interference, giving you a much purer and less distorted sound.
Supplied with Balanced cartridge
The Pro-Ject Pick it PRO Balanced is the first cartridge of its type (MM) to feature truly balanced signal transmission, making it the perfect partner for this deck. By not sharing the shielding pin with the ground, you get a cleaner and less distorted sound. Pick up noise and interference is greatly reduced, giving a much quieter backdrop for subtle musical detail to shine through the recording.
Built for class-leading sound quality
Use the X1 B with conventional cables and it’s still a highly impressive turntable. The top quality construction begins with the ultra-low resistance bearing and takes in an isolated motor and heavy acrylic platter – all of which help to promote a smooth, distortion-free sound quality.
Vibration resistant for even less distortion
Using a heavy, MDF chassis, the X1 B is far more rigid and resistant to vibration than plastic-based or lesser MDF decks. In addition to this, height adjustable, hybrid material feet effectively damp away mechanical vibrations from other hi-fi components on the same shelf, or from footfall in the room.
Super-rigid tonearm for the best signal
The tonearm uses a carbon and aluminium sandwich construction for superb rigidity. The stiffer a tonearm is the more effectively it carries the sound, undistorted to the next stage in the signal path. A further high-end feature is the TPE damped counterweight – helping to reduce resonance distortion still further.
Fully adjustable
For those wanting to get the very best performance from this deck, the tonearm also features pro-level adjustments. As well as the usual weight and anti-skating, you can also adjust the VTA (Vertical tracking Angle, or height) and Azimuth. This gives near infinite levels of fine-tuning.
Speed control – at the touch of a button
Although Pro-Ject have kept unnecessary features to a minimum, the electronic speed control helps provide a clean and stable power supply to the motor – with the further advantage of push button speed control between 33 and 45.
Choice of luxury finishes
With up to 8-layers of painting and hand-polished finishing, the X1 B looks every bit as good as it sounds. Choose between high gloss black, white, or satin-waxed walnut for the finish that best suits your interior.
For the purest, most detailed sound possible, the Pro-Ject X1 B strikes the perfect balance.
