This page is intended to demonstrate the incredible value of our 6 Year Supercare. Under recent legislation, we are obliged to point out that you obviously do not need to purchase an extended warranty at the same time you purchase your electrical goods and are entitled to shop around. We have been encouraging our customers to do just that for years because, not only are our prices significantly cheaper than our competitors, but just look at what else we include:

Free loan machine (Subject to availability. Only if taken back to store)
Should you encounter a problem, just ask and you'll be provided with a unit to ensure you're not without music whilst your equipment is being fixed.

Like for like machine if unit is unrepairable
If, for any reason, we are unable to repair your unit, we'll replace it. Naturally, models do change so, while we can't guarantee that it will be the same model, we do guarantee that it will have equivalent specifications.

Free routine service / Maintenance checks
have your unit serviced as often as you wish, free of charge, during the 6 year period. (Normally excluded from extended guarantees).

45 day cooling off period
If you're not happy with our 6 Year Supercare package just ask for a full refund - no questions asked. After 45 days, providing no claim has been made, you can also terminate the agreement and receive a pro-rata refund.

If you use the policy in the 6 years, you'll have saved yourself tens and perhaps hundreds of pounds. If you don't use it... IT WON'T COST YOU A THING!*

* Simply return your unused Supercare policy within one month of the expiration date, and we'll refund the price of your warranty.

For truly immersive surround sound, AV separates are still the way to go and introductions don't get any better than the Yamaha RXV381.

A step-up in sound

Soundbars are great but there's nothing that can beat the sound of a separate AV system. By using a discrete amplifier with low jitter PLL (Phase-Locked Loop), distortion is exceptionally low and background noise very quiet. The amplifier also delivers a handy 70 watts per channel (6 ohms) for totally immersive sound. For an even punchier sound, try the 'Extra Bass' function. This gives a deeper, richer bass response and works really well with small speakers and at lower volume levels.

Powerful processing
A further advantage of going the separates route is the inclusion of powerful surround sound processing. In addition to full HD audio decoding of both Dolby and DTS formats, the RXV381 features Yamaha's famous DSP Surround programs. With 17 modes from The Roxy Theatre to a concert Hall in Munich, the RX-V381 gives a variety of acoustic settings for a unique sound. Added to this, four SCENE selections ensure that you always have the best setting when watching films or listening to music.

Now with full HDCP2.2 compatibility
The latest RXV381 now has HDCP2.2 compatibility through all of its four HDMI inputs. Along with support for HDR and BT.2020, this means the RXV381 is fully equipped for handling the latest UHD Blu-ray players and HDR-equipped 4K TVs.

Stream your music with Bluetooth connectivity
Pair up your smartphone or tablet and you can wirelessly stream music. Playback music stored on your device or stream music services such as Spotify. Thanks to the Compressed Music Enhancer, the sound quality is also enhanced, giving a more spacious and natural sound.

Connect it all - including your USB memory device
With no fewer than four HDMI inputs, the RXV381 is flexible enough for the most complex AV systems. There are also a wide range of other inputs for older sources you may have, like DVD players. Around the front there's a USB interface that's ideal for plugging in a memory stick and playing back your stored music.

Easy to use with automatic speaker set-up
With YPAO sound optimisation and colour onscreen display, the Yamaha RXV381 isn't the daunting prospect to operate that you might expect. YPAO uses the supplied microphone to measure your room's acoustics and then sets the various parameters to suit. All this is done within just a few minutes and gives professional results at the touch of a button.

Take home entertainment to the next level and get a big sound to match your big TV, with the Yamaha RXV381.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy It. Great amp for the money went for this as my old yamaha was 15+ years old and need to upgrade, it has a great sound even out the box but when you really tweak it its amazing for the price. As always the staff was great and helpfull and paired with my sony 55" w905 LEd its a match made in heaven, All connected very easy and no more opticals and switch over boxes every thing done from amp and im very happy with it.....Only one problem and i think its a yamaha issue with a few of there amps even the ones over £1000 is it won't connect to my mobile via bluetooth but its not a problem for me as i dont use it for that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bargain Bought this as my Onkyo fried itself. Wasn't expecting much but it is only for my surround sound. Has all the features i need. Easy to setup with supplied test mic. Can't fault it. I wouldn't normally go for product protection/replacement but £20 for 6 years is a no brainer

Rated 4 out of 5 by from yamaha rxv381 Was made up to get an rx375 as a present a few years ago used roughly half and half for music and film from various sources with wharffedale 10.1 speakers and a yamaha 50 watt sub was a good set up so chose the 381 to replace a sony 2400es because it started struggling with no sound coming from one speaker or another intermittently no matter what settings I tried now after buying the new yamaha and buying a new coax lead for cd my old sony is working fine and sounding as good as ever through the old wharfedales got the yamaha 381 for the best price with rs just not set it up yet but surely my sony at about ten years cant have much more left can it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bang for your 'buck' Purchased this during a decent upgrade to 4K for my PS$ Pro, unfortunately my old amp had no 4K passthrough, so I was left with either running the image directly to the TV, and the sound via toslink - or replace,,, Glad I spent the little extra over another amp I was looking at, as this really suits my current setup - the addition of simulated environments is also a nice addition; now a piece of music can be played as if I were at a venue. My only gripe, and a tiny one, is that it ships in 2K mode - so after much blaming of my TV and swapping cables, I found it was this amp; though luckily a quick check on the Yamaha website and I had 4K enabled. As for problems - it's still early days, but I have had some occasions where my rear speakers are not detected, a quick shut off and back on sorts this though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fantastic value for a great sound 15 years ago I bought my first av receiver from Richer sounds which was a Sony. I have always liked Yamaha as I have had one of their audio amps for about 20years and is still going strong. I cannot recommend this receiver highly enough, the natural sound and separation is brilliant. If you want a no gimmick receiver then do not hesitate, order today. As usual great price and service from Richer sounds, have being buying from them since they just had their shop by London Bridge.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great But.... Great but no output to Bluetooth. What a disappointment. So you can't use your £200 Bluetooth headphones with this piece of kit..
Date published: 2017-06-02
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good sounding Amp Have only connected via rca phono plugs so far not HDMI as TV to old so limited functionality but still sounds great. Bluetooth is also very good with Spotify. Using existing 5.1 speakers with active sub woofer from old AV. Don't own a blue ray player so can't comment. The YPAO setup using a Mike for individual rooms and seating positions is cool, saves the hit and miss settings with speaker distances!
