Roksan Caspian M2 CD (Black)
CD Player
”In our opinion the finest CD player available at anywhere near this price.” ’What Hi-Fi?’ – 5 Star review.
Number One for sound quality
With a long list of glowing customer and professional reviews, the Roksan Caspian M2 CD is simply one of the finest sounding CD players in its class. If you want to feel the rhythmic impact from your music, the M2 CD Player simply does it better. Despite it’s foot-tapping beat, though, it’s also smooth and refined – making it just as good for Classical music as it is for R&B, pop and rock.
Built to perform
Rather than gimmicks, the Caspian M2 CD’s class-leading sound quality comes from painstaking attention to detail shown in design and construction. Highlights include a decoupled, isolated laser mechanism and super-precision master clock that ensures the laser tracks as accurately as possible, relying less on error correction and more on the actual digital signal. An independent analogue output stage PSU ensures a lack of corruption between the digital and analogue signals, giving improved clarity.
Fully balanced for pro-quality sound
For pro connectivity, the Caspian M2 features balanced XLR analogue and digital outputs. Connect these to a compatible amp (such as the Caspian M2 Amp) or DAC and you’ll benefit from studio quality, fully balanced sound. Balanced connections reduce interference, enhancing clarity and spotlighting detail that may have been glossed over before.
All the basics covered
Although the Caspian M2 CD puts sound above features, it does have all the basics you need. You get programming and repeat functions, plus a handy remote control. As well as the balanced XLR digital output, there are also optical and coaxial sockets – letting you connect the CD player to any DAC or digital amp.
For the best in CD sound, the Roksan Caspian M2 CD player is the one to beat.

Roksan a byword for quality!
Been looking to replace my cd player for a while and always had one eye on Roxan’s Caspian m2 having owned Roksan’s Kandy series many years since. I had read some pleasing reviews regarding the m2, but at around £2000 it was something [upgrade] that could wait. Then I saw that RS were offering a great price to VIP members at £1149 - no brainier!
So here we are 24 hours into ownership and after running on repeat since installing (24 hrs), I must say those reviews were spot on. Using it’s own Dac I was amazed at the amount of music the Caspian extracts from the disc, be it an older generation or newer re mastering. Timbre is so much more accurate as is the soundstage. It keeps up with the tempo with ease, never sounding cluttered when things get difficult - be it rock/blues/jazz/soul/classical pieces. Really happy that RS look after VIP members. Fully recommend this player! Buy with confidence!

An informative buying experience.
I visited Leeds Richer Sounds with my brother in law who wanted a record deck, amp and speakers. After a few seconds chat, we were asked if we wanted to listen to a set-up for a customer due in 45 minutes, which we did.
At this point my bro-in-law went out to look around stuff and do the buying, meantime I just had a quiet look around and saw a Roksan Caspian 2 cd player for £1199. After wrestling with my conscience for at least 5 seconds the purchase was made and it was delivered today. Swopped it for the old Marantz CD52 and it sounds great. It drew the usual comments from my wife “you’re playing it too loud…”. Who cares, music is meant to be enjoyed and this is a machine with which to do so.

a well balanced and etailed cd player
recently bought this cd player from richer sounds for an amazing price!! this player is advertised in canterbury hifi for £2395. my previous player which i still have, is the best cd player arcam ever made, the fmj cd 37. in 2010 i paid £1480 for the arcam and thanks to vip membership i got the roksan for less than that. the roksan has a bit more detail and has a more livlier presentation than the arcam, which makes it a more enjoyayable listen, it's also beautifully made. in all honesty it's a fantastic player, but not worth the £2395 that canterbury hifi are charging. but at the price richer sounds are selling it for it is a fantastic cd player for that money.....highly recommended!

Great sound
The treble is crispy, deep dive base, and has thick vocals. Every bit of music is in detail. Excellent sound. However, there are a few limitations on capability in reading self make CD but it is acceptable. In conclusion, this CD player is value for money. Excellent

Lives up to its reputation!
I consulted am number of online reviews about this product and it was highly rated by all reviewers.
Richer Sounds were offering the best deal, and was genuinely an offer I couldn't refuse!
Partnered with an Exposure 35190 amp and Spendor Classic 4/1 speakers the sound is brilliant.

Digs out the detail!
I bought this along side the Caspian amp,Monitor Audio 200 silver speakers and a Pro-ject classic evo deck. I was upgrading from the Dennon pma800 amp and cd player with monitor audio 100 standmounts. (I found that one of the drivers had become damaged, so decided......
I listen to a variety of music, but mainly blues and blues folk.
The cd player is great! Picking up detail on many recordings that I didn't know was there, turning many poor sounding recordings into a whole different ball game, but beware, what you thought were good recordings can become somewhat lacking in detail! The cd player does not have many fancy functions....suits me, all I want to do is listen to music.
Combined with the Roksan Caspian amp and the Monitor Audio speakers, all out of the same stable the sound is excellent. I do not play at high volumes (neighbours) but the clarity and response are the best I have had to date.
If you just want sound, excellent at that and no frills...go for it!

Superb Sound
Unfortunately for those of us who still enjoy listening to our CD collections, the choice of high end players is becoming ever more limited. Fortunately however Roksan is still there to fill the gap with a superb sounding machine which I can not imagine being bettered at the price. It is on a par with my previous (more expensive) Naim player which is praise indeed.
There are a couple of niggles, though. There is no direct track access. To go from track 5 to track 20 for example you have to press Next Track 15 times.
Rather more of an inconvenience to me, however, is that the digits showing track and timing are so small that it is impossible to read them from my listening seat 3-4 metres away. The reason is that almost half the space on the display is taken up with a grid of 20 squares numbered 1-20. One square flashes corresponding to the number of the track which is playing. The box then disappears when that track ends. If there are more than 20 tracks, the word "Over" appears at track 21! All completely pointless in my opinion, and it is not even mentioned in the User Manual.
If you are happy to live with these caveats, I can highly recommend.
