Sennheiser HD 560S (Black)
Over Ear Open Back Headphones
£139
”If it’s insight you want, and absolutely crystal-clear understanding of a recording, the HD 560S make an awful lot of sense.” ’TechRadar’ – Recommended
Hear the music – just as the artist intended
Featuring all-new speakers with polymer-blend membranes, the HD560S achieves a level of insight and realism that’s ahead of the game. The headphones deliver sonic accuracy across the whole frequency range, meaning that every instrument from a cathedral organ to a hi-hat cymbal is perfectly resolved. If you want to hear to the heart of every recording, these are the headphones for you.
Open backs for open sound
The open backed design allows music to ‘breathe’, meaning it has a more spacious and lifelike quality. The EAR (Ergonomic Acoustic Refinement) angled drivers replicate the ideal ‘sweat spot’, letting you hear the mix just as it sounded in the studio.
Powerful bass
As well as providing a true and accurate sound, the HD560S headphones go deep down to the lowest notes. The new speaker units excel at the 20 – 50Hz range, which is exactly the point that you’ll hear most of the lowest notes – or not, if your headphones aren’t up to it.
True comfort
Thickly padded, velour-covered ear pads make these over ear headphones a pleasure to wear. For their size, the HD560S headphones are also light, making them comfortable to wear for long periods of time.
Connect to all your sources
Supplied with a 1.8-metre cable, terminated with a 6.35mm plug, the HD560S headphones are perfect for home use. They also come with a high quality 3.5mm convertor, meaning you can also connect to your Hi-res portable or other portable device.
Hear to the heart of your music, with the Sennheiser HD560S.

Comfortable and great sound
Replaced my old Sennheiser HD450Mk2 with these HD560S and the difference in sound quality was amazing. The HD560S has great bass and nice tight top end.

These headphones are a great fit and great sound
I lost my previous Sennheisers in a recent house move and bought these to replace them. I'm now hearing more sounds that I'd not noticed before in my music library. Importantly for me, they work perfectly with my twin hearing aids! I love music, and I find the reproduction is balanced and real, with just the right amount of bass emphasis, which I enjoy - it's like being in the studio with the band!

Very very good
Hmmm. Not sure about these. I am using Cambridge Audio M200 and Tidal Master subscription. Currently listening to Nina Simone Montreux Years. These are lovely and neutral which I think is important especially if you are trying to listen to things as intended. They are for me very comfortable which has to be a big consideration otherwise you won't enjoy your listening experience. I also have a lower midrange vinyl hifi setup 2k region in my house but I can't always use it so I wanted a setup in the living room and headphones made sense. Headphones are obviously a different listening experience and I didn't want to spend lots on my first outing. These are very good, good detail retrieval, good but not perfect instrument separation and I would say this ever so slight blurry image at the lower end would.make me reconsider and ask the question what would £300-400 get me. Richer sounds unfortunately didn't have many to try and that's fine they've been great in the past. I did get told there isn't a great range of wired headphones anymore which turns out just isn't true. Conclusion - if you are serious about headphones maybe even as an alternative to a system then forget BT buy a DAC and headphone amp and then if you are between these and perhaps the next model up (the 600 or even 800 series) i think I'd stretch to the next level. If you've got something else in the house to deliver great music then these are really very good as an alternative.

Excellent equipment
The phones are plugged into a digital church organ, and although I have to increase the volume on the organ (no big deal), the 'phones perform admirably. They were a good buy.
