Ideal for larger rooms
Following on from the award-winning 12.1, the larger 12.2 is perfect for filling larger spaces. Featuring a bigger woofer and larger cabinet, the 12.2 not only drops lower but also gives a richer sound at lower volumes.
Ground-up redesign
Although this is a speaker with all the Diamond traits in place, the design is completely new. Making use of powerful computer modelling, the Diamond 12.2 is engineered to perform. Totally new drive units use a motor system more typically found in professional speakers – giving excellent power handling and low distortion. The new Klarity cone material uses a hybrid construction to give lightning-fast response in the bass and mid-range, while the woven textile tweeter delivers the perfect balance between detail and refinement.
Choice of finishes
Available in black, light oak or walnut finishes, the 12.2 suits a wide range of decors. The cabinet itself is engineered from differing thicknesses of MDF to control resonance. Combined with the strategic bracing, this makes it solid and free from the distorting ‘boxy’ sound. In short, you get to hear the soul of your music, distortion-free.

The Amazing 12.2s
I recently decided to upgrade the speakers on my 2nd system which has a trusty old Quad 33/303 at its heart.
After listening to several option i settled on The Wharfedale 12.2s, I have placed them on sand filled stands and quiet frankly they have exceeded my expectations, They are extremely detailed and i am hearing elements of music previously lost to my ears.
For such a small speaker the Bass and Mid ranges are tight and well projected without overpowering the Treble responses and overall the 12.2s project a well balanced sound which has clarity across all genres of music.
In particular Vocals are very precise and Acoustic instruments are vibrant and accurate but do not leave you with listener fatigue
The 12.2s passed the Nils Lofgren Keith Don't Go test with flying colour's and The Vinyl Version of London Grammars Truth is a Beautiful Thing Sounded Fuller and More Wholesome than before.
For a pair of Speakers costing just under £300 they are amazing value, , If you are looking for a well controlled and detailed speaker then place the 12.2s on your list for consideration
