Make any Hi-Fi system a MusicCast system
Whether this is your first MusicCast component or an expansion to an existing system the WX-AD10 is the ideal way of making your current Hi-Fi part of the MusicCast family. Setting up is easy; simply plug the WX-AD10 into the AUX socket via the Yamaha’s 3.5mm mini-jack or RCA phonos, connect to the Internet and you’re good to go.
MusicCast for sound all around your home
The Yamaha WX-AD10 is part of Yamaha's hugely impressive network audio system, MusicCast. With MusicCast you can control all your compatible Yamaha MusicCast products via your smartphone or tablet. Play the same music on all the components or split the sound into different zones for different moods in each room; the choice is yours. The MusicCast CONTROLLER app also lets you operate the speaker and change settings quickly and easily.
Advanced networking including Apple AirPlay and Bluetooth
Built-in Apple AirPlay means that you can stream music from your Apple iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or other compatible Apple device, wirelessly. If you use another brand of smartphone or tablet then you've also got Bluetooth, for easy music streaming from your portable device.
Wi-Fi and DLNA for effortless streaming and Internet radio
Also standard with the WX-AD10 is Wi-Fi, giving easy connection to your home network. A DLNA certified connection makes streaming a breeze. You can access your stored music from PC, laptop or NAS drive and listen to Internet radio stations and music services such as Spotify Premium, Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer and Napster.
Putting sound quality first
Using their own technology, Yamaha have produced an audio circuit that’s low in jitter and high in terms of its signal to noise ratio. This means you hear more detail and less distortion. Best of all, the improvements can be heard from all sources, including Bluetooth – making this one of the highest quality Bluetooth receivers available.
Hi-Res Audio playback
At the heart of the Yamaha's digital processing is a top quality Burr Brown DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor). This not only provides a punchy and lifelike sound but also facilitates the playback of High Resolution audio formats. The WX-AD10 is compatible with a wide range of HD audio formats, including FLAC 192kHz-24-bit for exceptional sound quality.
Clavinova joins MusicCast
Unique to Yamaha is the ability to connect to your Clavinova digital piano and use it as a wireless speaker! If you fancy more involvement with your music then you can easily play along, as the music streams.
Join the streaming revolution, with the Yamaha WX-AD10.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Gabb from Good value for money The app is a bit outdated, it doesn't support continuous playback which is annoying.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TGD56 from Sound is Excellent, control a bit lacking I am very pleased with the sound quality, it is just what I wanted. Setting up was a little tricky because my router is dual band and the WXAD10 has to be on the same band as the iPhone/iPad controlling it. This is not explained in the manual and took a bit of Googling to find the problem. The control app is not very intuitive and I found it puzzling at first. However, I have become more familiar and can now do all the things I wanted to, and many more. I have also found a few extra radio channels that I like very much. Overall I am very pleased, just hoping Yamaha will improve the App

Rated 4 out of 5 by jazzvids from Very Good Value Simple to use once set up. Works well. It seems any radio station with an IP address can be accessed directly via the Yamaha Music Cast app which is simple to use on your mobile phone. The usual free and paid for services are there The sound quality is very good

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anfj from Disappointing sounding streamer Bought to replace an elderly laptop as streamer for NAS stored files, Spotify and internet radio. The interface and implementation are good. Problem is the SQ which is pale, opaque, lacking detail and bass-shy. Dull sound ruins every kind of music I have tried. Even spoken word broadcasts suffer from poor intelligibility. Sadly, no digital out so cannot upgrade through better DAC. Admittedly cheap, so maybe I am being too harsh. But digital output would change it from a snooze-fest into a seriously useful item. As it stands, it is only acceptable for background sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Streamer from Excellent music streamer I had previously bought two cheaper music streamers to convert my ageing hifi for streaming internet broadcasts and playing my own digital music. Neither of the cheap Chinese units worked properly, failing to stream from Apple apps. This worked perfectly and with a much higher output volume. It was a doddle to set up and the Musicast app is easy to use. The sound quality is excellent and altogether I am delighted. I may buy another for my old Denton system.
