Sound meets convenience
Inspired by classic Audio Technica products from the ‘60s and ‘70s, the Audio Technica AT-LP8X uses a direct drive mechanism and J-shaped tonearm. For enhanced ease of use, the semi-auto design lifts the arm at the end of the record and stops the motor, letting you enjoy the best in sound, without worrying about the stylus over-running.
Direct drive for precise speed
Featuring a direct drive motor, the AT-LP8X gives outstanding pitch stability. The low-torque motor ensures that pitch-sensitive instruments and vocals sound rock-solid and lifelike.
Anti-resonance design for the purest sound
Constructed from MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) and fitted with vibration-absorbing feet, the AT-LP8X delivers smooth, low-distortion sound. Further rubber damping to the aluminium platter ensures anti-resonance sound that’s free from metallic ‘ringing’ and true to the original recording.
Three speeds – including 78
As well as 33 and 45 records, the AT-LP8X is also compatible with 78s. Simply swap over the stylus for an AT-VMN95SP (available as a cost option) or change the headshell and you’ve a deck perfectly set for 78s.
Lightweight headshell for easy cartridge replacement
Supplied with the newly designed AT-LT10 headshell, you can easily change cartridges. Purchase additional headshells and cartridges and simply unscrew one and fit the other – perfect for when you’re changing between 33/45 and 78 records, or using different cartridges to suit different music genres.
Enhanced Audio Technica tonearm
The J-shaped tonearm is a classic AT design that’s designed for perfect groove alignment. Fitted with adjustable dynamic anti-skate control, the tonearm lets the cartridge track the record as accurately as possible, giving the lowest distortion and highest levels of detail. It also has VTA (Vertical Tracking Angle), letting you set the height to suit different cartridges and mat thicknesses.
Classic Audio Technica cartridge
The AT-LP8X also benefits from being fitted with the Audio Technica’s classic cartridge. Featuring an elliptical stylus, the Audio Technica AT-VM95E is a great upgrade over standard cartridges. Compared to more basic conical cartridges, the elliptical stylus on the VM95E gets deeper into the groove – pulling out more music for a more detailed sound.
