The Cambridge Audio Minx X301 is in the middle of the X-range and strikes an ideal balance. At just 28cm square, it's smaller than most of its rivals, yet thanks to larger bass drivers, the sound's anything but. Like the other Minx subs, the X301 uses unique Cambridge technology to produce a bass response that is both powerful and tuneful.
Sophisticated Digital Signal Processor
At the heart of the X301 beats Cambridge Audio's sophisticated DSP (Digital Signal Processor). When combined with the digital amplifier, this provides exceptional bass with more than enough power to rattle the china! The bass cones are constructed of one-piece, aerospace-grade aluminium and configured with both powered and passive cones; something not usually seen at this price. Compared to conventional bass ports there's a greatly enhanced bass response with far more detail and control.

Although compact, the X301 packs a hefty 300W from its active amplifier and offers gain, phase and crossover control for full control and integration with a complete Minx system. Visually and Aurally perfect for me.

Great little thing...thumbs up!
I've been thinking about getting a sub for quite awhile, and after reading various reviews and forums about what a good sub can bring, I bought the X301 (arrived two days ago). Set up was a lot easier than I'd feared (got lucky with placement too, I think), back panel is *easy* to use. The Minx has brought an added depth, body & sense of space to my records that is most enjoyable - I was very happy before with my Linn/Naim/B&W system, but this little thing is the icing on the cake!

For small size unit it packs a punch
I bought this subwoofer and Cambridge minx speakers to upgrade from Boston 5.1 surround system. It’s paired up with a Denon AVR-X2700H AV receiver. The Denon AVR sets up the sound for you and the quality is unbelievable. Tried out the system with the start of Ice Age DVD and the sound effects of the ice breaking and cracking with full surround sound is excellent! Totally recommend it for living room or cinema room!

Great sound from such small units, great upgrade from my previous setup even though I came from towers speakes amd Bowers amd Wilkins centres and rears, the sub also packs a punch for its size too

Solution to long standing problem
I’m on a path to improve the sound in our house, building on some 40 year old Linn Kans. First step was a CXA81 to replace old defunct NAD 3020 which was always underpowered. Second was good streaming source through Intel Nuc. Left with a sense of not enough bass in the mix, which has always been my impression of the Kans. While this was fine in a student flat, needed upgrade. The Minx 301 is fab - solves that problem well. The Kans are super clear in the mid and high range, but just needed some support. Happy customer! Now looking at relative merits of Tidal and Qobuz. Later seems better for my tastes. What to do with all the CDs?

easily hidden away not like other subs that stand out such a clean design. powerful sub 300w but small in size and energy efficient with auto power detected feature.

Great to extend the bottom range of setup
Bought to just give some extra low-end umph to my existing setup of Mordaunt Short MS906/MS905c/MS903s powered from an Denon AVR-2300X amp. The 906 are great on the low range, but this just gives it some much extra right down to 29Hz. It is positioned in a corner due to the room layout, but the Denon Audesy setup seems to have compensated for that in how much signal it sends to the sub. Now to rewatch Palpatine's force lightning scene from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which shook the house and dig out some of the great dance tracks with thumping baselines just to anoy the neighbours.
