Cambridge Audio Minx X201 (White)
Subwoofer

Enjoy genuine hi-fi sound quality but demand discreet style? Then take a look at the ground-breaking Cambridge Audio Minx system!
If you're in any doubt about the quality of this system then take a look at what the reviewers have been saying. "Well, Bose is about to get a sound thrashing from the British boys at Cambridge Audio, whose brand-new Minx is even smaller than Acoustimass - especially the subwoofer - and simply better. Much, much better." Jonathan Margolis, Financial Times. And, "To say we were impressed is a gross understatement." T3
Small yet mighty
It may be the smallest in the family of Minx subs but don't underestimate the power of the X200! Like the other Minx subs, the X201 uses unique Cambridge technology to produce a bass response that is both powerful and tuneful. At the heart of the X201 beats Cambridge Audio's sophisticated DSP (Digital Signal Processor). When combined with the digital amplifier, this provides exceptional bass from what is one of the world's smallest subwoofers. To maximise this advantage the bass cones are constructed of one-piece, aerospace grade aluminium.
One powered, two passive cones
Configured with a single, powered cone and twin passive cones, the X201 uses technology not before available at this price. Compared to the more conventional bass ports, you get a greatly enhanced bass response with far more detail and control. Although small, the X201 packs a mighty 200W from its active amplifier and offers gain, phase and crossover control for full control and integration with a complete Minx system.
Finished in special, scratch-resistant, premium automotive gloss black paint, the X201 is the perfect match for most hi-fi, home cinema and TV systems. Prepare to be impressed!

Easy setup, great sound
I got this about 2 weeks ago to add some depth to the sound from a pair of Minx MIN12 speakers used mainly for streaming - although I also have the system now hooked up to an LG projector for cinema purposes.
Very easy to set up, the crossover dial has a marker for the optimal setting for the MIN12, so it was up and running in a few minutes.
Sound is great (for me - I'm no audiophile), and the sub is both small and pleasing to the eye, so it fits well in our room.
I have it set to use auto power management, so it sleeps when there is no audio. There's a delay of about a second when music starts playing, which doesn't bother me in the slightest - but you can force it to always on if you prefer.

Never let me down
Didn't know which sub-woofer would best suit my system, so a trip to Richer Sounds soon solved my question. The one they recommended is spot-on - having lived with it for several weeks, I love its' performance. It's definitely "there" but not in your face, which was exactly what I wanted. Top marks again to Richer Sounds for their expert advice. I haven't even considered going anywhere else for years.

Stopped working after 2 years and 1 one month
was nice whilst it lasted. But it didn't last nearly as long as I would expect. One month after the warranty ended it just... died. No power at all. I expected better, Cambridge Audio! Especially as I only used it once or twice a month.

Great subwoofer
Purchased this subwoofer to give a bit more bass to my EVO 150 and EVO S speakers.. extremely happy with the resulting improvement. Not have having a large room the Minx201 was the perfect solution. As usual Richer Sounds telesales staff were very helpful and efficient.

Great sound, works great in my small flat
Its a lovely little subwoofer. It really thickens up the sound from my Q Acoustics 3020is.
Music sounds a lot nicer with the added base, and the audio sounds fantastic with movies as well.
My only complaint is that the glossy plastic case shows up any dust on it. Would much prefer brushed plastic

Perfect for my kitchen
I had a small space under my island to fit a sub so size was important. The minx fitted that brief and gives a brilliant sound.
