Cyrus's "best sounding CD player ever"
These aren't our words, they're Cyrus's. When you take a look at the specification of this superb CD player, it's easy to believe; even considering Cyrus's previous sky-high standards. At the heart of this Cyrus CD player is their award-winning Servo Evolution disc reading engine. Put simply, this extracts more information from the disc than ever before, giving incredible realism and crystal clear clarity. Such detail at the beginning of the musical chain is extremely important because, no matter how good the rest of the player, it can't make up for what's gone before. Fortunately, the rest of the player is pretty impressive, too! Using many components from the range-topping CD Xt Signature plus a high quality 32-bit DAC gives the CDi exceptional resolution.
Unique Cyrus design and quality
For some decades now, Cyrus products have been instantly recognisable by their half-size case design. This not only makes them look more compact and attractive than other hi-fi separates but is practical, too; two units can be placed side by side without taking up any more width than a conventional hi-fi separate. Just as recognisable is the high quality, die-cast casing. A feature of Cyrus products since the late '80s, this very high quality casing not only looks great but has important sonic benefits, too. In mechanical terms, the dense casing provides a non-resonant nature, minimising microphonic effects. The non-ferrous composition also provides superior shielding against various electrical interference, such as RF disturbance.
Upgrade path
Like other Cyrus products, the CDi offers a clear upgrade path. Even though it already has a first-rate technical specification, it can still be improved. By adding Cyrus's famous PSX-R power supply, the CDi benefits from a more generous supply, helping to bring about a number of improvements. Firstly, with the supply located in a separate casing, noise that could affect the delicate electronics is greatly reduced. Secondly, the larger power supply is more highly regulated for a cleaner and purer supply. The resulting sound has extra detail and a more expansive soundstage.
Cyrus system synergy
Cyrus takes system synergy seriously. Not only do all their products aesthetically match one another but there's also a unique rack that's specifically designed for them - the Hark. In addition to this, the CDi features MC-Bus connectivity, allowing the CD player to integrate smoothly into a complete Cyrus system using just a single remote control.

Cyrus Dynasty excels with the CDi
Purchased this on Friday, demo set up by Lee. System was set up to be very near the sound I would expect with my system . Took various cd discs and played on the Rotel CD12 which is a very good player, however on the CDi the detail of the top end was superior on all music played, retrieving the minutest detail. Mid was perfectly coherent and the bass was as deep as the Rotel but better controlled and tight, the CDi is a fantastically involving player, nuances you haven't previously heard abound, cannot recommend enough.

Richer service
As usual, the guys at Richer Sounds excelled themselves - such a knowledgable bunch of Hi-Fi addicts like me - great service and all smooth without a glitch. Wish the rest of the retail world worked as well. Maybe put them in charge of the airports and airlines - would be a good idea to get a similar level of satisfaction. PROBABLY TOO MUCH TO ASK!

Crisp and clear audio
Having decided to resurrect our sizeable cd collection from storage I recently bought this player to initially play through our Sonos system; with a view to investing in a high end amp and speakers at a later date.
The CDi’s sound quality is excellent with clear and crisp audio that brings out the true quality of the cd.
The build quality is exceptional and features, whilst not overly sophisticated, provide everything I need. Overall I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and look forward to many years of use.

Astonishingly good sound
I upgraded from a Cyrus CD 8x. There was nothing wrong with my previous Cyrus. It was about 18 years old and sounded fine. But I was seduced by the unanimously excellent reviews of this new Cyrus CD player. Could it really sound that much better? The answer - yes it does! I don’t really have the audiophile vocabulary to describe the improvement. It’s just all round better in every way. Greater clarity. Greater sonic range. Greater detail. It’s just noticeably and undeniably better. If you’re thinking of moving to this from a non-Cyrus player. Then it’s a no-brainer. A lot of money but it’s worth it.

Wonderful clarity - Dated appearance
I bought this on recommendation from the RS team and have been very impressed by its performance. The sound was grin-inducing from the very first trial and the stereo imaging and stability of instrument position on the sound stage was the best I've heard. It has replaced a NAD C545 BEE and I honest didn't expect the improvement to be so stark.

Excellent CD PLayer
I purchased this on the strength of its reviews, and am very glad I did. It is very revealing and avoids the over bright quality of many CD players. I'm still running it in, but am very pleased indeed so far.

Excellent and realistic sound.
I am glad that this product does not come with many and unnecessary gizmos. The straighforward features are, in my view, all that is required to facilitate serious listening, especially for musicians.
My only critical comment concerns the method of loading and ejection of a CD. It is virtually impossible to avoid touching the playing surface of the CD, something we all try to avoid. On ejection the hole in the CD doesn’t eject far enough to remove the CD without touching the surface with ones hands. The old style loading with a tray does avoid this aspect but I assume the Cyrus is indicative of the more upmarket CD players.
