The perfect blend between size and power
At around a foot cubed, the Focal Cub Evo is a sensibly sized subwoofer. Its compact size makes it easier to place than larger subs and more suited to smaller and medium-sized rooms.
Powerful performance
Although it won’t dominate your room in terms of looks, the sound is something else. Featuring an eight-inch Polyflex woofer and 200 watt amplifier, the Cub Evo easily reaches down for the lowest bass notes. It’s this extra oomph at the bottom end that truly puts the ‘cinema’ into home cinema sound.
Measured sound
Careful streamlining means the bass port reduces distortion while still enhancing efficiency. This means you get a smooth bass response at low volumes, without boomy distortion at higher levels. The rigid, MDF cabinet also offers very low levels of resonance, letting you hear the bass and not the cabinet distortion.
Tune to your room
Volume and crossover frequency dials let you get just the right sound balance in your room. The phase invertor switch is also handy if you plan to position the subwoofer behind you. If you choose to tuck the sub out of sight, the autopower feature will prove especially handy as there’s no need to manually power the subwoofer off and on.

Easy set up, good sound
Had this product little over a week now and very happy with it. Easy to plug in and set up and quality sound. My old sub base was exceptional quality with tons of base boom to spare, my new sub base not quite as powerful in volume and getting that base boom but I’m still very happy with it and the price was reasonable. If I hadn’t had my old base to compare to then would have given this product 5 stars. I also have to comment on my first experience at Richer Sounds, 10 out of 10, the chap looking after me did exactly that giving excellent advise and guidance and ensured I got a product giving me both the sound and look I was after. He took his time and answered all my questions and I never felt rushed at any time.
Quality service all round, will use again for my next sound purchase. Many thanks.
