The LG SQC4R soundbar system supercharges your TV’s sound for a truly cinematic experience. Dedicated surround sound speakers and a powerful subwoofer mean that you hear enveloping sound and feel the full impact from action movies, games and TV drama. Enveloping sound
Supplied with rear speakers, the SQC4R’s sound is fully immersive. Rear speakers recreate special effects, putting you at the heart of the action. The speakers connect to a special control box which pairs wirelessly* with the soundbar, meaning that you don’t have to trail cables from the front of the room to the back.
*wireless control box requires power and connects to rear speakers via supplied cables.
Powerful bass
The SQC4R isn’t just about immersive sound, it’s about power, too. The separate subwoofer delivers action movies and music with serious muscle. The wireless connection means that it can be placed anywhere in the room, regardless of how close it is to the soundbar (mains power required).
Set the sound to suit you
If the powerful subwoofer’s not enough on its own then simply select the Bass Blast function. This increases the bass presence for an even deeper, more cinematic sound. Alternatively, DRC (Dynamic Range Control) gives a clearer sound at lower volumes, making this perfect for late night listening when you don’t want to disturb others, but still what to hear the dialogue clearly.

With USB and Bluetooth connectivity, the SQC4R makes a great music speaker. Simply pair with your smartphone or tablet and wirelessly stream your favourite music services or stored music. A USB host lets you plug-in a USB media device and playback your digital music library.

Good sound but tricky to set up
Pretty good sound but ( despite being connected to an LG TV ) it has been difficult to set up. I have not been able to connect via the optical cable but bluetooth is working. Also, once the bluetooth is connected ( even in Standard sound setting ) all of the options to customise are greyed out ( ie the equalizer ) If I disconnect the sound bar, the equalizer can be adjusted. Why not with the sound bar connected? Surround sound works well.

Fantastic product and service.
LG SQC4R Bluetooth Sound Bar. Excellent quality and performance, setup took less than 20 minutes and worked straight from the box. Service from Damien and his team at the Brighton Store also 5 Star.

Mediocre at best
I got it together with LG C3 42'', free of charge (mind you it is not 299 - every other site sells it much, much cheaper).
As I intended to use the TV as a PC monitor, I promply removed my old Z333* set and I was hoping to get much better sound with the fancy soundbar. Immersive sound. 4.1. Great reviews on the web. Moon on the stick.
*For these that don't know Z333 - its a simple 2.1 set from Logitech, worth around £50.
So, I've put the new soundbar on, and... it sounds flat. Like literally flat, vocals are lacking, bass is overpowered, scene is sqashed.
I'm listening to both as I'm writing this review - switching output between them every minute or so, and I'm more and more leaning towards the £50 Z333. So far testing them 1:1 for the last hour.
I'm going to pack the soundbar and throw it in the garage. Can't stand the music on it, while it has nice bass and woofer makes good job of filling in the middle, the rest literally sounds square, with plastic reverb to it. And the speakers are so close that the scene is lost.
I can hear the sound reverb inside that plastic box at any volume higher than low. And it does not go loud, too - maybe half and a bit of what the old set can do. Not loud enough.
When my wife came around yesterday, she just commented that it sounds awful, and that I should put back the Z333. So now I do test it and I convinced myself to swap it out. I mean, I would not mind getting the bass and low-middle extension from the soundbar into Z333, but rest is poor.
I tried it for gaming, but forget it. I can only get the rear speakers to work via Dolby Atmos in Windows, and they lag badly, causing echo. Lets skip on the quality of sound from these plastic rear boxes. The front speakers are so close that it ruins the gameplay experience, too.
Not that I tell you to buy Z333 instead - its a pretty weak set, I had it simply because of lack of space for anything bigger and better here - just saying that this soundbar is worse than that cheap 2.1. Compared to some Sony soundbar that I bough for my mum sometime ago, its plain awful. I really don't understand why it has such good reviews on the web.
I got a more proper set in my living room, nothing amazing, some Wharfendale's (230+220+SW150) with a basic amplifier - lets not try to compare this soundbar to them, as I would have to give it even less stars.
Summarizing: No wonder its given out for free. I guess it sounds better than TV built-in speakers, but at any price other than Null its a waste of money. For £300 you can get something decent instead, like Sony soundbars, or some good active speaker sets.
P.S. When I was about to publish this, I caught myself not switching the sound output to the soundbar for about 3 songs now. So I tried the SB again, shivered and switched back to Z333. Awful.

Just set up the speakers via Bluetooth the sound is great for movies but I probably won’t be using it for day to day tv. All the same superb piece of kit
