For the Phono Box S3 B to be at its most effective, pair with a turntable that features a balanced output, such as Pro-ject’s own X1 B and X2 B models. Fit a Moving Coil cartridge and link the turntable via its mini XLR output and you’ll get to hear the full potential that balanced connectivity brings.
Adjusts to optimise your choice of cartridge
As well as being able to switch between XLR balanced and RCA phono non-balanced connections, the Phono Box S3 B offers a wide range of cartridge settings, ensuring you get the optimal match for your cartridge. Adjustable settings include input gain, capacitance and impedance. By optimising the sound from your specific cartridge, you'll discover a resolution and level of detail that might previously have been masked.
Switchable subsonic filter
With some speakers you might find subsonic noise causes a real problem. You’ll see the bass cones moving wildly as they struggle to reproduce inaudibly deep bass sounds. Cutting in below 20Hz, the subsonic filter protects the woofers from wear and tear and ensures the bass you do hear is less distorted.
High quality casing
Available in black or silver, the full metal casing offers rigidity and a high level of electrical shielding. This ensures that the delicate internal electronics are protected from both mechanical and electrical interference, helping to reduce sonic distortion.
