The perfect companion for Ruark speakers
The Ruark RS1 isn’t like the average subwoofer; it’s way more stylish than that. Ideally suited to Ruark’s MR1, R3S and R410 models, this subwoofer enhances not just the high level power but also the depth of sound, giving a smoother and richer balance. Using an industry standard RCA input, this Ruark subwoofer is also compatible with most other home cinema and hi-fi speaker systems, too.
Deeper, richer sound
Designed for a richer bass response, rather than outright power, the RS1 uses a 170mm long-throw, powered woofer together with a 170mm passive cone to add weight and body to your music and movies. With less strain on your main speakers, you get a more lifelike and natural sound, whatever the volume level.
Dynamic and controlled
Although the RS1’s focus is very much on quality over quantity, it’s no slouch when it comes to power and control. Featuring a built-in 100 watt, Class-D amplifier, the sub is more than capable of sustaining higher volumes and keeping a tight control on the bass. This means that the bass is dynamic and fast to respond, enhancing the music’s thrilling sensations.
Luxurious finish
Unlike many less than attractive subwoofers, Ruark’s RS1 is just as luxuriously finished as its other speakers are. Walnut caps, top and bottom and a wraparound fabric grille give it an unobtrusive, room-friendly style. This is one subwoofer that doesn’t need to be hidden away. The finish also perfectly matches selected Ruark speakers, giving a harmonious aesthetic style.
Easy set-up
Auto-on/standby means that you don’t have to switch the RS1 on/off each time you want to listen. Connection is via a simple RCA cable, with a 1.5 metre cable supplied (longer subwoofer cables are available in our stores, online or via telesales). The adjustable crossover adapts from the tiniest satellite speakers to large standmounters, and everything in between. Switchable phase control keeps the sound in sync if the subwoofer’s placed behind you.

Superb!
Took the plunge and bought this at the same time as an R3S. I am so glad I bought them together as they effortlessly fill a large open plan living, dining, kitchen space of approximately 390 ft2, with a wonderful balanced sound. The RS1 was extremely easy to set up and is very pleasing on the eye as a piece of furniture. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to add a quality subwoofer to any compact system.

Why did I wait so long?
Purchased a few days ago after some deliberation and I'm so glad that I did.
I've had the Ruark MR1 MK2 speakers for a while and although I've been extremely pleased with them I
always felt that something was missing.
Adding the RS1 has filled the gaps and I couldn't be happier. Sound is warmer, has more depth but hasn't
lost any of the focus or high end clearness.
Set-up was easy using the online instructions and I soon reached a sweet spot for my listening room.
The RS1 isn't super powerful and doesn't offer huge gut churning bass but it does integrate with small speakers
and massively improves the listening experience.
I've listened to familiar vinyl's, CD's and bluetooth streamed tracks and whether George Michael,
the Rolling Stones or Oasis they have all been improved and I haven't had to adjust anything once I'd set it up.

Something old, something new!
I’ve paired the Ruark sub with 2 old KEF 1005.2 ‘mini eggs’ from a long retired surround sound setup; a new WIIM Amp; and a TEAC 400BT turntable. After years of living with a soundbar for convenience, the difference in sound quality from my new/old separates set up is like night and day. Rich detail from the mini eggs and seamless integration of warm bass from the Ruark have transformed my listening experience. I chose the Ruark sub on aesthetics first for its beautiful walnut and fabric finish, but the sound production is 5 star too.

A new world of sound opens up to me
When I was searching the internet for some new speakers, I suddenly came across this subwoofer from Ruark and I immediately fell in love with the beautiful design, but when I finally heard the amazing sound coming out of it at home, I fell in love with it! The subwoofer RS1 combined with the MR1 mk2 speakers is heavenly for me! And this actually for a very nice price considering the quality you get in return. Really, I highly recommend the subwoofer as well as the speakers from Ruark!

Tight bass with good looks
I use Wharfedale Linton's in an AV receiver with the RS1 and an old Martin Logan Motion 30 center channel. Whe auduiphiiles hear this, they probably laugh, but I'm truly happy with the warm sound of the Linton's and the exttra bass extension of the RS1. The RS1 isn't the usual choice for movies, but if you live in an apartement like me, you can have enough bass at normal volumes and still not anger your neighbors. The RS1 is great for any application, where you need just that extra bass extension, without room shaking bass.
The only thing it's missing is a power button.
