Getting the ideal speaker cable for installations isn’t easy. Ideally, the cable needs to be compact and flexible yet high enough quality to run audio over long distances without signal loss. Now better than ever
The latest version of the LeylineX speaker cable uses a high performance XLPE (Cross Linked Polyethylene) dielectric. This replaces the previously used PVC and is as fitted to Chord Company’s high-end cables. XLPE outperforms other materials in Chord’s listening tests and offers superior insulation for reduced interference – giving a smoother, more natural sound with enhanced detail.
Fit and forget
Designed for use in home cinema applications and multi-room systems, where cables are often hidden away, the LeylineX uses tin-plated Oxygen Free Copper for low corrosion and low loss over long lengths. The twisted geometry also helps the cable in maintaining the signal over longer lengths.
Meets the standards
Flexible and compact 16/2 gauge rating makes the LeylineX easy to route. The LS0H (Low Smoke, Zero Halogen) jacket makes this a high compliance cable – ideal for installations. It meets EN50575 DCA-S2, D2, and A1 CPR ratings.

Helpful, friendly service, kind & patient approach
Came in for some new speaker wire for my Soundbar surround speakers. I was met with complete politeness and knowledge from Ben and his team at the Southampton Branch. Felt welcome and appreciated. Even know my knowledge isn't great on hi-end Hifi's etc. I didn't feel worthless. Unlike other shops I've been too.

Not exactly as expected (my fault!)
Bought online, and perhaps on impulse, the 'trousers' were not what I was expecting as I had mistakenly thought these included the banana plugs, whereas in fact these are just bifurcated sheathes. That said they are an easy to use and effective addition to create neat cable termination. Only coming in 2 sizes, large or small limits the types of wires they can be matched with, and I have not been brave enough to test whether they heat shrink, but it seems the wrong typre of plastic.
The speaker wire was good enough, but quite expensive for a relatively thin wire.
