The Denon difference
Founded in 1910, Denon has over a century of audio experience. This experience becomes clear, as soon as you listen to the Denon AVR-X2800H. With a high performance, discrete 7-channel amplifier at its heart, this Denon AVR has a perfect balance of power and control. With 95 watts per channel, the full force of home cinema movies and gaming is easily realised.
Experience the immersion of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
Dolby Atmos and DTS:X use ceiling or up-firing speakers for three-dimensional and fully immersive sound. Whether it’s rain falling in a tropical jungle or the intense sound of overhead gunfire, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X put you in the centre of the action.
Extra height, without the speakers
As impressive as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X sound, it’s not always possible to accommodate the extra speakers. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Virtual:X Height Virtualisation technology go some way to help. Play any Dolby format and enjoy a more immersive sound with virtual height enhancement – using your existing speakers. DTS Virtual:X also creates a more enveloping sound from any DTS codec. Compatible with 2.1, 5.1 or 7.1 speaker configurations, DTS Virtual:X gives the impression of height and immersive sound.
Enhanced 8K, HDCP 2.3 HDMI compatibility
Upgrading on previous AVRX2000-series receivers, the X2800 now features three, 8K compatible HDMI sockets, compared to one. Both outputs are 8K compatible, too. They support 8K pass-through, 4K/120Hz and 8K upscaling of 4K content, too. The X2800 also supports the latest copy protection standard, HDCP 2.3.
Wide-ranging HDR support
The AVR-X2800H also supports a wide range of High Dynamic Range video formats. These include Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. It also supports HDR10+, which enhances picture realism by sending dynamic Meta data to your TV, as well as Dynamic HDR. In short, whatever the format used by the film, game or stream, the Denon supports it.
Made for gamers in mind
The enhanced HDMI interface makes this Denon AV receiver the perfect choice for gaming. There’s support for 4K/120Hz and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), giving you the best resolution and clarity. Quick Frame Transport (QFT) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) help eliminate lag and frame tearing, giving you a smoother, more responsive gaming experience.

Great sound and good flexibility
Bought this a couple of days ago to replace an aging Sony unit. It allows flexible speaker setup . The rear terminals are far easier to attach than previous units. A couple of key features not aware of until setup were dialogue enhancement which is critical with modern movies and older ears (Christopher Nolan take note) and all speaker stereo for fully immersive experience. The drive my
Q acoustic speakers very well. Looking forward to attempting an atmos setup. The setup wizard is a little pedantic but better to many steps rather than too few. Looking forward to controlling all my 4k sources through one amp. An illuminated remote wood have been nice but that's about the only quibble.

Great customer after sales
I bought a home cinema system, including 7.1 surround sound. (Denon amp, Dali speakers, Hisense 120" projector and screen)
The delivery company were terrible and took 3x attempts to get the system to me (left items on the van 1st time and 2nd time didn't turn up).
However the telesales team (Felix) did everything he could to sort the problem out and even kept me upto date, even on his days off.
When the whole system arrived, it was so easy to install, including the 120" ALR screen.
Thank you Richer Sounds for the Quality product and the time you took to keep me updated and sorting out the delivery problem.
I will definitely be purchasing from Richer Sounds in the future to upgrade my system with even more quality products.

Possible connection issues
Having initially buying the Denon S760 and experiencing connection problems with my Sky Q box, I was told by RS that if I upgrade to the Denon 2800 I would not experience any further problems.
Sadly this was not the case.
The exact same issues were present, a ‘ handshake’ issue between the two boxes.
It seems that this is not a new issue, there are references to issues going back a number of years.
For me the only way to resolve the issue was to get Sky to replace our current box with a V3 Sky Q box.
The downside is that you lose all of your recordings on your old box and it is not a straightforward process to get Sky to replace your box.
Obviously this issue will not affect everyone but I feel that the potential problem should be made more evident to potential buyers so they can prepare themselves for the possible problem.
