Norstone Bergen 2 (Satin Black)
Hi-Fi Rack
£199
Featuring individually isolated shelves, the Norstone Bergen 2 gives your full hi-fi system the support it needs to sound its best.
Individually isolated shelves for superior sound quality
Each shelf, including the base shelf has its own set of dynamically balanced spikes and counter spikes for ideal mechanical isolation. Isolating each shelf has two main benefits. Firstly, vibrations from an amplifier won't be transmitted to more sensitive hi-fi components. Secondly, vibrations from other sources within the room such as footfall, speakers, fish tank pumps and so on, will be suppressed, too.
Good vibrations
With vibrations successfully suppressed, you'll benefit from enhanced clarity. Subtle detail comes through and the bass sounds tighter and more focused. If you have a non-sprung turntable, you should also find it less sensitive to mistracking caused by heavy footfall in the room.
Smart and flexible
Finished in a smart new satin black with black shelves, the Norstone Bergen 2 is the ideal match for most hi-fi separates. With four shelves, of differing heights, it's also flexible enough to accept many system variations.
Get a better support for your hi-fi system, with the Norstone Bergen 2.

Fantastic Service From Start to Finish.
Popped into the Newcastle store to ask advice about a HiFi stand. The staff were fantastically helpful and guided me to the Norstone. There were more expensive versions, but no pressure to buy those, as they didn't really meet my needs. This was really refreshing. Bought and paid for the item and believe it or not, it was actually delivered to my house exactly 24 hours later...as promised. Excellent service, would thoroughly recommend this store. Oh, and as a aside, they also advised me where to get a good savaloy dip in toon too. Now that really is above and beyond. Thanks guys.

Very Good product overall
I wanted a unit to take several Hi-fi components (but not a tv): it must not be tacky but not ridiculously expensive either. This fits the bill because it's: nicely finished; looks good; feels solid; big enough and strong enough to take a heavy tuner/amp.; stable enough for a turntable on top; stable thanks to 3-leg design throughout.
Just the following possible weaknesses: 3-leg design means rear corners might tip if pressed hard; shelves are not fixed to each other; no built-in adjustment for levelling.
It's located in a corner and overall I'm very satisfied, just aware of the need to be careful.

It works
Does what it says it will do, if you are listening to the music and not the equipment.

Not a long term solution.
I bought one of these a number of years ago, and it has been dismantled &reassembled maybe three times for room decoration and a re-jig of hifi components. The caps at the corners have short studs threaded into them, and many have now stripped. to the extent in fact that I have now done away with them and re-assembled using sections of M8 stud and rubber washers directly into the pillars. Curiously, this has had the effect of improving the unit in leaps and bounds - it feels much more sturdy. Frankly, I would question its isolation capabilities from the outset; spikes aren't the answer.
Whatsmore, as a proud turnatable owner, it would have been nice to have had a simple method of levelling the top shelf. This I have done (and have had to do again) by a laborious process of inserting shims into the pillars, re-assembling, check the level, dis-assemble, and so on.
It works, but it's overpriced for what it is, and build quality in the long term is questionable.
The missus tells me it's a dust magnet.

Great Value for money
Great stand, looks far more expensive than i thought it would be for the price when viewed in the shop. Plenty of space and you can alter shelves around to suit your hifi set up, all round well happy.
