Strong bass with unobtrusive style from this compact floorstander
Ideal for medium-sized rooms, the Wharfedale Diamond 12.3 offers the deep, powerful sound you'd expect from floorstanding speakers while keeping the overall dimensions relatively compact. Using a second, dedicated bass woofer, the Diamond 12.3 punches hard. Not only does this second woofer unit increase the depth and volume of bass, it also helps to 'fill out' the sound at lower volumes, making this an ideal speaker for use at all volume levels.
The size of these speakers makes them equally at home as stereo or front speakers as part of a Diamond 12-Series home cinema system. They're also easy to place, working well close to or away from the rear wall.
Although this is a speaker with all the Diamond traits in place, the design is completely new. Making use of powerful computer modelling, the Diamond 12.3 is engineered to perform. Totally new drive units use a motor system more typically found in professional speakers – giving excellent power handling and low distortion. The new Klarity cone material uses a hybrid construction to give lightning-fast response in the bass and mid-range, while the woven textile tweeter delivers the perfect balance between detail and refinement.
Choice of finishes
Available in black, light oak or walnut finishes, the 12.3 suits a wide range of decors. The cabinet itself is engineered from differing thicknesses of MDF to control resonance. Combined with the strategic bracing, this makes it solid and free from the distorting ‘boxy’ sound. In short, you get to hear the soul of your music, distortion-free.
Delivering a rich, powerful sound, the Wharfedale Diamond 12.3 is a sparkling performer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jongow from Wow! Bought these speakers with a Sonos AMP to fill a large room (30ft X 20ft X 16ft ceilings) - just blew me away - the base is awesome really shakes the room and your insides but not at the expense of the medium and high tones which are crisp and clear throughout. Played a wide range of music from Bach to Radiohead and haven't stopped smiling - hearing every element of the music in a perfectly balanced way is simply awesine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lichfield123345678 from Fabulous speakers I bought these based on What HiFi’s recent review. I subscribe so get it early. I had planned on buying Fyne Audio F301’s but based on the review I went for these. A gamble on that review. Wow! I have Mission M74’s, good speakers in their day, but these were better even straight out of the box. The build quality is excellent. The black ones I got don’t show that they have gloss black fascias. They look amazing. They are fed by a Rotel RA02 amp, SONOS with DAC, Rotel CD, Project Carbon t/t, QED biwire cables, Van den hul cables, and the sound improvements already are magic, base is deeper but tight, vocals clean, they are so much better at lower levels too, playing Eva Cassidy, Bowie, Sam Smith on vinyl was magic, I sat there grinning and they are not run in yet. The Missions gave bass but at higher volumes, these have it low too. As I write this review George Michael is on via SONOS in the background but we can now feel the bass without the boom and low sound detail is there. I haven’t tried CD’s yet, can’t wait. These were an impulse buy based on a review just like my last purchase some 15 years ago and it was a good choice they are excellent, money well spent, give them a try or buy like I did, you will love them!
