Cambridge Audio AXC35
CD Player
£349
”…the CD player is something of a budget marvel that really doesn’t put a foot wrong in any aspect of its performance.” ’Hi-Fi Choice’ – Recommended – tested with matching AXA35 amplifier
Putting sound first
Under the lid, the AXC35 is thoroughly engineered. Features such as the centrally mounted CD drive, double-sided circuit boards, separate power and output boards and a top quality Wolfson DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) mark this CD player out as a model for the music connoisseur. To hear the music just as the artist intended, the AXC35 gives your system the best start possible.
Digital output for upgrade potential
A great feature over the AXC25 model below is the standard digital coaxial output. This simple socket gives loads of extra functionality and upgrade potential. Use it to connect directly to a digital amp or AV receiver. Alternatively, connect a digital recording device for the highest quality digital recording. Add an outboard DAC in the future and you’ve also got the potential for even better sound quality.
Now with gapless playback
New to the AXC35 is gapless playback. With some CDs, a marker point is placed between tracks, even though the music runs continuously. This produces an annoying pause in the music as the player reads the track marker. With gapless playback, this is no longer an issue, meaning you get to hear the whole album exactly as the artist intended.
Sleek new style
The entire Cambridge AX Series has a fresh new look that catches the eye. The Lunar Grey front panel contrasts with the black top and sides, making it ‘pop’ into crisp focus. The cool white display and minimalist button count give a timeless style that’s typical of the Cambridge Audio brand. The teardrop profile with wedge foot mirrors the CX Series, showing a strong family link between ranges.
Play your CDs in style, with the Cambridge Audio AXC35.

Scores maximum points in all areas
Very smart design, easy to operate and most important of all a great sound when matched to its sister AXA35 Cambridge Audio amplifier. Scores maximum points in all areas and I have every confidence it will last as long as my now retired Sony CD player (20 years old)

Good sound. Easy to use. Neat.
I bought this just after Xmas. Only recently set it up, which was easy. Connected to a Sonos speaker which was less easy but soon sorted.
And now it’s operational and sound!

This works
I only bought a CD player as I wanted kit that matched. The old player worked seemingly ok. As I mostly play vinyl I thought I would stay with that. However the better half disagreed and I am pleased because I have now been able to play cds that the old player couldn’t read

Excellent value for moey
I bought a new Cambridge Audio AXC35 CD player a few weeks ago, to replace my old CD player which was not working properly. After advice from Austin in the Maidstone store, I chose this model as a suitable fit to the rest of my hi-fi system. It is just what I wanted, and good value.

Excellent sound quality
Wanted to upgrade my Panasonic mini hi-fi to something a bit more substantial especially in the sound department . This is my first time in buying 'separates' and i was on a limited budget , so after some research i decided to go for this because the 25 was out of stock . The guys at the shop gave me a great deal on it ... heck .. i could'nt resist ! , after connecting it up to my other new separates ... wow ! i was blown away by the lovely clear and well defined sound ! . It may be classed as 'Budget' but the sonic experience is'nt ! , make sure you get decent quality connectors and you are in hi/fi heaven ! .

Clear sound, simple operations
I bought this a few weeks ago to replace the CD player I'd had for over 20 years. I didn't know anything about the current market and technologies, but felt well-advised in Richer Sounds. There didn't seem to be a great deal of choice, and it feels pricier than I expected, but it certainly sounds good.
