The Chord Electronics Hugo 2 combines a top quality headphone amp and DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor) with sophisticated processing and battery-powered portability for the ultimate music experience at home and on the move.

Reference quality sound from your headphones – on the move
Fitted with a powerful, dynamic-sounding headphone amp, the Hugo 2 effortless powers a wide range of headphones. It also features a digital crossfeed function with three operation modes. This adjusts the sound to replicate a natural soundstage and has three settings (Light/Medium/Heavy) for the best effect. For the most direct sound, crossfeed can be switched off.

A top quality DAC for your home system
As well as the finest headphone amp for music on the move, the Hugo 2 also makes for one of the best-sounding DACs in its class. Connect via USB, optical or coaxial and enjoy stunning clarity from the custom coded Xilinx Artix 7 chipset.

Shape the sound, with four-function switch filter
Selectable frequency-shaping lets you tailor the sound to your exact requirements. Choose between Incisive neutral, Incisive neutral with high frequency roll off, Warm and Warmer with high frequency roll-off. Each mode suits different types of music, recordings and headphones. Chord’s iconic coloured buttons glow different colours depending upon the selected mode.

Hi-Res sound – right up to 768kHz/32-bit
The Hugo 2 comes into its own with Hi-Res music files. Use the USB input from your laptop or home computer and you can stream music files right up to 768kHz/32bit. The coaxial input features a dual data mode connection option, taking the permitted file size from 384kHz/32-bit right up to a USB-matching 768kHz/32bit (specialist cable and source required). The optical input accepts up to 96kHz/24-bit. Native DSD up to DSD512 is also supported.

Bluetooth aptX input
For ease of use, you can connect a suitable source wirelessly to the Hugo 2. Perfect for a smartphone or tablet, the Bluetooth aptX, wireless connection is ideal for casual listening. The wireless connection lets you keep hold of your smartphone for other purposes, while the music simultaneously plays through your system.

Wide range of connections
Whatever you want to connect, the Hugo 2 has it covered. Digital inputs are covered by micro USB, optical and coaxial. Outputs include separate 3.5mm and 6.35mm sockets for the best connection, free of any adaptor plug, for your headphones. RCA phonos connect up to your system at home.

Long-life batteries
The Hugo 2 uses two Enix Energies Li-ion batteries for a playback time of around seven hours. A USB charger is supplied, and the Hugo 2 is easily be charged from USB devices outputting at least 1 amp (2 amp output required for maximum speed charging).

Aluminium case in black or silver
Built from machined aluminium casings, the Hugo 2 is built to the highest standard. This case doesn’t just look and feel luxurious, it also provides excellent shielding and isolation from electrical and mechanical outside interference.
