Replacing the PTFE insulation with high performance XLPE (Cross Linked Polyethylene) improves the performance of this already impressive cable. You get what u pay for
Rarely treat myself to speaker cable above £10pm but as I only required 2 X 1mtr lengths decided to splash out. So glad I did. The sound blew me away. Tight, rich bass and crisp, clear treble. Highly recommended. As always, 1st class service from the guys at RS Sheffield. Been a lotal customer for over 30 years, literally from the day they opened. Still the best hi fi retailer in the country by a mile!!!

Great sound and fantastic service
As I had recently upgraded my speakers to Fyne Audio 502s l, taking advantage of the great sale offer I decided it was time to upgrade my speaker cable.
Stephen in the Glasgow store, as always, offered great advice, so I bought the Chord Shawline x cable fully fitted with banana plugs.
I am delighted with the performance.

Great sound
Only got these cables this weekend so not burned in yet and not had a lot of play time. First impressions are really really good bass is really tightened up treble is mellowed but detailed and vocals have moved forward. I can only expect for things to get better with time. The staff at the prestwich branch were really helpful and informative and even made the cables up while I waited big thumbs up all round

Sound barriers opened wide
I had already purchased Chord shawline RCA for my cd player, which in itself is a revelation.
Upgrading to Shawline x speaker cable the obvious move to complete the task.
Appearance wise, the Shawline cables look and feel very professional. Connecting to my speakers straightforward. Now of course, the all important listening aspect.
I chose the Beatles remastered Abbey Road. Even though the cables need that running in process; I am amazed how open and detailed the sound has become. Instruments separated, bass detailed, clarity far beyond anything I expected.
Am I pleased. I most certainly am. Money definitely well spent. Highly recommended.

Chord Shawline X & trousers
I have had a total upgrade buying Dali Opticon 6, Dali Menuet SE, Rotel A14mk2, RotelT11 DAB/Tuner. There has been a good increase in sound quality as my old system was 15yrs since I bought it.
The Shawline X cable was fitted yesterday to the set of Dali Menuet SE bookshelf speakers. I bought a set of Atacamo Moseco 10 stands, these have cable tidy system inside one of the steel upright poles. I had to thread the Shawline through without any termination work done prior to putting the stands in place. The cable flexes enough to thread through the steel stand as the holes are estimated to be 15mm. Terminated cables will not thread through these stands. I also lapped red and black shrink wrap around the trouser / banana and on the opposite end where spades have been used, this just allows for quick reference of positive & negative cables.
Sadly my Pioneer 301 disc carousel broke a few days ago. I am considering buying the Brennan B3 ripper / CD streamer as need to back CD's as 2 new one were broke when the carousel broke.
The overall sound quality is immense. I listened to about 10 different kinds of speakers before picking the Dali's, the sound suited to my time of music.

Big improvement over Chord - Rumour X cables
I bought some Shawline X for my new garage gym. When new equipment was installed I had to move the speaker location and it sounded terrible. I did some tests and found that lowering the speaker caused time alignment problems between the tweeter & the woofer. However, one thing I tested was the older Rumour X cables with the Shawline X. The Shawline X had a larger sound with more clarity. It sounded like I now had a bigger amp but it was the same amp.
So, I upgraded the AV cables on my home cinema system and what I now have is more clarity & the hiss has gone. I thought the hiss was caused by the amp but ive learned it is caused by RF interference over the cables.
