Product Information
Delivering high-performance surround sound, multiroom music potential and so much more, the Denon AVR-X2900H DAB is an all-entertainment system hub.
Evolution of a winner
Denon have a distinguished history of producing award-winning AV receivers, with the company itself dating right back to 1910. The AVR-X2900HDAB is the latest in a long line of premium AVRs and perfectly balances sound quality with features. Utilising 95 watts of power, across seven channels, it’s ideal for cinematic Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats. Multiroom streaming, powered by HEOS makes it more than an AV receiver; it’s the heart of your home music system, too. With Audyssey built-in and now the option of Dirac Live Room Correction, it’s easy to get optimal sound in your space.
Experience the immersion of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
For the most cinematic sound, this Denon can be configured in a 5.2.2 format, which includes two ceiling or up-firing speakers. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X use these ceiling or up-firing speakers for three-dimensional and fully immersive sound. Whether it’s rain falling in a tropical jungle, the intense sound of gunfire, or an overhead aircraft, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X put you at the heart of the action. For less complex systems, Dolby Surround and DTS Neural:X processing are also onboard.
Optimal bass
Featuring directional subwoofer mode, you can fine-tune the bass for a more smoothly integrated response. There are also two subwoofer outputs, letting you split the signal across two subs for a more even response.
Supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+
The AVR-X2900H DAB supports a wide range of High Dynamic Range video formats, including Dolby Vision and HDR10+. With pass-through support for both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision formats, you’re all set for the best results from all streaming services (Dolby Vision is used by Disney Plus and Netflix, while HDR10+ is used by Amazon Prime Video).
Supercharge your gaming
With its comprehensive HDMI interface, this Denon AV amp is ideal for gaming. There’s support for 4K/120Hz and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), giving you the best resolution and clarity. Quick Frame Transport (QFT) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) help eliminate lag and frame tearing, giving you a smoother, more responsive gaming experience.
Music streaming, powered by HEOS
Streaming music via the AVR-X2900H DAB is simple with the free HEOS app. This user-friendly app uses three main tabs that feature at all times - Rooms, Music and Now Playing. You can listen to the same music in every room or different music in different rooms. The app also lets you group HEOS compatible devices such as soundbars and AV devices, for totally connected home audio.
HEOS – a complete ecosystem
The HEOS multiroom ecosystem lets you seamlessly configure up to 64 zones of sound – enough for even the largest mansions. Start with this AV amp and then build up a multiroom system to your exact requirements. With many hi-fi and home cinema amplifiers also featuring HEOS built in, it’s even easier to incorporate your entire home entertainment system into the HEOS family.
Stream your way – AirPlay 2, Roon Ready and Bluetooth
As well as the HEOS app, you can also choose to stream via other platforms. With AirPlay 2, this Denon AV amp makes an excellent choice for Apple users. As a Roon Ready device, the AVR-2900H DAB can also be configured within a multi-brand, multiroom high-resolution Roon system. For quick and easy device pairing, there’s also Bluetooth onboard.
Acoustic room correction by Dirac Live* or Audyssey
Thanks to state-of-the-art digital room correction from Dirac, the AVR-X2900H DAB offers pro-level room optimisation. Dirac Live Room Correction uses a USB microphone (not included) and dedicated PC software to take multiple readings around your room and feed the information back to the amplifier for a completely bespoke response (professional set-up recommended).
*Dirac Live requires additional payment.
Audyssey MultEQ XT for optimised set-up
Featuring Audyssey's MultEQ XT technology, the AVR-X2900H DAB adapts itself to your room's acoustics. Use the supplied Audyssey measuring microphone and the system tunes the AV receiver to provide the smoothest, most optimal overall listening experience for your room. If you want to take this even further, purchase the MultEQ Editor App (at additional cost) and you've access to advanced user settings.
Connect it all – from turntable to TV
With six HDMI inputs (three 8K, three 4K), the Denon has you covered for connecting all your video and gaming devices. A coaxial and two optical digital inputs are ideal for connecting older devices or upgrading the sound from a compatible CD/Network player. Four analogue inputs are perfect for hi-fi components, plus there’s a further, dedicated MM phono input for plugging in a turntable.
DAB radio built-in
As well as the widest range of home cinema options, this Denon AVR also features a DAB radio. Perfect for when you just want some background music, DAB (digital) radio offers a wide range of stations, including the popular BBC 6 Music and 4 Extra.
Improved button layout
Subtle revisions to the AVR’s facia means that the main function buttons are now angled upwards. This makes it easier to find the buttons, enhancing the user experience.
Quick Selects for the perfect sound – instantly
With such user flexibility, getting the perfect sound can be a complex business. For this reason, Denon has fitted the AVR-X2900H DAB with four Quick Select audio presets. Take your time in setting the ideal sound balance for your TV, Blu-ray, games console and music source and recall them at the touch of a button for the ideal sound, instantly.

”The new Bronze standmounts are beautifully made and terrifically tuned; these are bold, impressive performers that demand your attention.” ’What Hi-Fi?’ – 5 Star review.
Bronze 50 – compact and versatile
As the most compact speakers in the Bronze 7G series, the 50s suit a wide range of applications. With their narrow width and discreet design they’re ideal for smaller rooms or even desktop audio installations. They also make a fine choice of speaker for multiroom and home cinema systems. Although small in size, Monitor Audio’s C-CAM drivers ensures expansive and richly-balanced sound that goes deeper than you might expect.
All-new tweeter for smooth and detailed top-end performance
Featuring an all-new, 25mm C-CAM gold dome tweeter, the Bronze 50 7G sounds better than ever at the top end. Delivering the perfect balance of detail with a smooth, uncompressed sound, treble performance is both revealing and yet refined enough for longer listening sessions not to become tiring.
Masterful in the mid-range
Pairing with the tweeter is a similarly all-new woofer design. This C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium Magnesium) model is 6 inches across, optimised for the best balance of bass response and speed. The driver unit makes the Bronze 50 7G’s quick to respond, with articulate vocals and great attack from drums, brass and other instruments. Because of its powerful motor system, with oversized magnets and voice coils, it reaches deeper than it’s size might suggest, with a richly-balanced bass response to complete the all-round excellence.
Part of the Bronze 7G family
If you plan to use the Bronze 50 7G speakers as part of a home cinema system, then the matching Bronze 7G range provide the perfect accompaniment. As well as larger speakers, there’s also a range of centre, wall-mount and Dolby Atmos speakers for complete home cinema heaven. The W10 subwoofers make the ideal partner if you want increased bass depth, without having larger speakers in the room.
New cabinet design, available in a choice of finishes
For the 7G range, Monitor Audio has upgraded the cabinets with plywood front baffles. These help improve cabinet rigidity and also ensure the most solid base for the all-new drivers. The result is ultra-low levels of distortion, for the cleanest sound possible. Available finishes include matte black, white and walnut. The white finish has exposed plywood at the sides for contrast, while the black and walnut use a black stained real wood veneer for the baffle.
Enjoy scaled-up sound, without the bulk, with the Monitor Audio Bronze 50 7G.
