The Emotiva BasX A5 is a 5-channel amp of exceptional value and ability. Use it to drive a 5-channel system – with equal power to all speakers – or as a power amp upgrade to an existing AV receiver.
Plenty of power
Using a tried and tested Class A/B amplifier, the Emotiva BasX A5 delivers smooth and consistent sound. With an impressive 95 watts per channel (all channels driven), the BasX A5 has the power to make the most of your home cinema speaker package. Use in stereo mode and the power increases to an impressive 120 watts per channel at 8 ohms or 175 watts per channel into a 4 ohm speaker.
Purity to match the power
Unlike some, digital only, power amps, the BasX A5 utilises an analogue Class A/B amplifier stage. This preserves the music’s emotion and ‘flow’ in a way that many digital amps struggle to convey. Designed with high current capacity and short signal paths, it promotes a highly dynamic, low distortion sound.
Quality connections
At the back of the BasX A5 you’ll find high quality connections for both inputs and speaker outputs. Heavy duty, insulated and gold-plated speaker sockets accept thicker cables and 4mm banana plugs. Inputs are handled by universally accepted RCA phonos which are, again, gold-plated for low resistance.
Sturdy build quality
The sturdy, steel case features a milled aluminium facia, giving it the visual muscle to match the room-filling sound.

Totally transformed my surround sound.
I have a 7.2 surround sound system powered by an AV receiver. I use this system to listen to music and watch movies. All the speakers are 6 Ohm nominal and have relatively low sensitivity of about 86Db. In theory the AV receiver should have enough power to run the speakers but in practice it sounded terrible. I have now added in the BasX A5 and it has transformed the whole system. The surround speakers are louder, clearer and more detailed. There is better separation between channels. Music sounds faster with more attack to notes and drum hits. You don't know what you're missing until you get a proper amp.

excellent at the high stuff
I'm using the BasX A5 to handle my 5 height speakers. As part of a 5.5.1 Aero 3D set up along with a Marantz SR7015. This gives me the immersive sound from above whilst maintaining the clarity of the front sound stage. The addition of the Emotiva BasX A5 has elevated my set up to the next level. The opening five minutes of Apocalypse now with the helicopters and the music of the Doors I can honestly say I was stunned by the movement of sound around the room.
This an excellent solution for movies and multi channel music. I thank the staff at the Newcastle branch, always a top quality service and advice.

Great Sound
Emotive Emot -Basx -A5 I watched a lot of reviews on YouTube all were positive. I would recommend this amplifier The sounds and build Quality is premium.
