Get the most out of any AV system. View our great value home cinema cable bundle.
If you like the idea of top quality cinema sound but are put off by the bulk of typical AV receivers, then the Marantz NR1510 is perfect for you. Standing just 104mm tall, it's around half the height (or less) of many of its rivals. This not only makes it easier on the eye but also allows it to be slotted in where many other AV receivers simply won't fit.
100% sound quality
Slim in size but most definitely 'full fat' in terms of sound, the NR1510 doesn't compromise on sound. The Marantz NR1510 is equipped with an advanced 32-bit DSP processing system that supports a wide range of sound formats, including Hi-Res Audio, right up to DSD 5.6. Discrete, high current power output devices provide a sound that's punchy, low in distortion and perfectly balanced around all your speakers. The Pure Direct feature aims to give you the cleanest sound quality by bypassing non-essential circuits. Thanks to MDAX2 you can even restore the quality of compressed MP3 audio – giving greater ‘life’ and ‘depth’ of sound.
Voice control via Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices
Controlling a sophisticated AV receiver like this can be baffling for some members of the family, which is why Marantz have made it compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices. Simply download the HEOS Home Entertainment Skill app and then just ask Alexa or the Google Assistant to perform basic functions. Using the Apple Home App, Siri voice control from your Apple iOS device brings added functionality over AirPlay 2 – including grouping devices.
HEOS built-in - for the finest multi-room audio
HEOS multi-room music systems connect together by dual-band Wi-Fi, making them easy to set up with your existing home network. Up to 32 HEOS units can be set up at one time, ensuring even the largest of homes are covered for multi-room music. With HEOS already built-in, the NR1510 is ready to go as a single 'zone' without any further adaptors.
Control it all with the HEOS app
Once you've set up your HEOS speaker system, you can stream music effortlessly via the dedicated HEOS app. Available for Apple iOS, Android and Amazon Kindle, the app not only lets you stream your stored music but also Internet radio services and popular streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal, Napster and Deezer.
Support for Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG
Ideal for pairing with your quality video sources, the NR1510 is compatible with an extensive range of formats. It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, Dolby, HLG and HDCP 2.2, which means you can play UHD Blu-ray discs and stream UltraHD video in the highest quality. The HDMI sockets allow 4K pass-through, for hassle free switching and viewing without the receiver needing to be on.
Connect more – including a turntable
As well as the six HDMI inputs, the NR1510 has a wide range of connectivity. Both optical and coaxial digital inputs are ideal for connecting older devices or upgrading the sound from a compatible CD/Network player. Three analogue inputs are perfect for Hi-Fi components, with the dedicated MM phono input ideal for plugging in a turntable.
Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, DLNA and built-in wi-fi for the complete networking experience
With both Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 connectivity it's easy to connect up all your smartphones, tablets and compatible lap/desktops and stream music wirelessly. The NR1510 also comes with wi-fi, Internet radio and DLNA. Simply connect to your home network via Ethernet or wi-fi and access thousands of Internet radio sites via vTuner as well as subscription services such as Spotify Connect Premium Spotify account required). DLNA compatibility lets you stream from other sources such as your laptop or NAS drive.
Packed with features, not bulk, the Marantz NR1510 delivers without dominating your room.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mudlogger from A great replacement for my old soundbar. Years ago, I replaced my stereo speakers with a soundbar, to run my TV and HiFi through. When this went wrong I went to replace it and was advised about alternative replacement ideas - this unit won! (thanks Tim, in Exeter). I am still getting to grips with it and there are compatibility issues with older tech (my mobile won't bluetooth to it), but the quality of sound is superb. Married with my old B&W speakers and with a new central speaker, it gives a sound so much better than my old (quite expensive) Polk soundbar. The bluetooth isn't a problem as I can achieve the same thing through WiFi using the HEOS app. The ability to stream music and to listen to digital radio through the one unit is a massive jump forward for me (particularly as I live in a digital radio 'coldspot' and can now pick up many more stations). Be advised - if you are new to this kind of setup, it can take a little while to download/install and get used to using everything. Overall I am very happy that I made the jump to this 'newer' tech and think that it will lead to me buying further speakers for other parts of the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by axb8152 from Updated Previous Model I've been buying Marantz for over 30 years, and the brand had never disappointed. This latest slim surround processor has Dolby Atmos, and is qell-spec'd to deal with HD Sound. TgecApp us a little clunky, and it didn't airways behave when being controlled by my TV Remote and the HDMI input, but they're just details really and do not distract from this being an excellent product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mick384 from Good sound. Nightmare menu Not sure how to rate as the sound would achieve probably 5*s but the whole thing is let down by the hugely complicated operating menu. So many functions seems to be randomly thrown into menu of choices and some poor soul has had to assemble them into some kind of order. TV still does not function properly with amp and the sound settings seems to randomly change from switch off to switch on. Hugely frustrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by gavavuser from Excellent service from Richer Sounds Guarantee This unit was just received as a replacement for another manufacturer's unit which had failed after more than five years. The old unit was placed without fuss under the Richer Sounds excellent 6-year guarantee. This review DOES NOT cover the new unit which I have only just commissioned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by GT151 from Great sound, small size, user interface mediocre The good: audio quality is great, been enjoying it very much. The unit is very small for an AV receiver, but still with lots of I/O options. Definite upgrade from my older Onkyo device and I'm generally very happy with it. The decent: the on-screen user interface could be from 1980s (poor even comparison to my old Onkyo from 11+ years ago) but despite looking crummy the setup for WiFi, airplay, spotify and microphone calibration was all very smooth and painless. The front display has some poor design choices - volume level is displayed in tiny 7-segments in the corner that are hard to read from a distance and the main display is taken up by audio type (dolby digital, pro logic, DTS etc) and I can't find any options to customise it. It's limited to 5.1 and it's only 4k (not 8k) compatible so low on future-proofing, but neither of those limitations bother me much. Airplay is convenient but note that it's audio only, so no way to mirror screen using the AVR. The poor: At one point the unit stopped receiving audio via ARC from my Samsung TV (only ARC compatible, not eARC) and I had to power cycle both devices at the plug to make them reconnect successfully again. Suspect this may be an HDMI-CEC compatibility issue between devices or potentially an issue caused by the "Eco mode" on the Marantz which I've since disabled. As a result I'm keeping an eye on it and have a TOSLink optical cable ready in case it turns out to be a recurring issue, but that loses the lipsync functionality and I'd rather not resort to it.
