Compact yet powerful – perfect for smaller rooms
With its compact dimensions and smooth, rounded styling, the REL T/5x is one of the most stylish yet least obtrusive subwoofers in its class. Small enough to fit behind and to the side of furniture, the T/5x is ideal for tight spaces and discreet installations. Power it up, however, and the powerful 125 watt amp and 8 inch sub will leave you in no doubt that this is a true REL, through and through.
Punchy bass
Using a base-mounted, 8 inch woofer, the T/5x uses the floor to spread bass all around your room. This not only gives you real punch at lower frequencies, but also the feeling of the bass being all around you – just like with REL’s larger subwoofers.
High current 125 watt amplifier for vice-like grip
Keeping the bass cone under tight control is REL's tried and tested 125 watt Class A/B amplifier. Unlike other active subwoofers that use digital amplifiers, REL have stuck to the more traditional Class A/B transistor design. Although more expensive to produce, the upside is class-leading attack and control. The bass starts and stops exactly when it should, with superb agility and no 'overhang' to its response.
Separate levels pre-set for your hi-fi and home cinema
If you use your subwoofer for both home cinema and hi-fi, the REL T/5x is ideal. Traditionally, the problem with using a sub with both home cinema and music systems is the difference in presence required. Whereas films often require the sub to be turned up for the greatest thrills, music demands a more subtle approach. With the REL T/5x you get separate level controls for stereo and LFE .1 surround. This means you get the ideal levels for both hi-fi and AV, without the need to constantly change the settings.
Wireless capable*
Add the optional REL Arrow system and make this REL wireless. The REL Arrow system uses a zero compression, wireless connection for the ultimate balance of sound quality and convenience. Just like the T-Series subs, the Arrow transmitter features dedicated inputs for hi-fi and home cinema.

Very easy to integrate and excellent bass delivery
I purchased the Rel TX5 a few weeks ago and I’m amazed at how well it has slotted into my system and is part of my system upgrade - It is driven by the Hegel H120 and Dali Opticon 2’s, which will soon be replaced with a pair of Proac’s and so the audiophile journey will continue
As I have said a quality sun with speed articulation and clarity (Yes bass clarity and definition is so tight and enjoyable) Most stand mounted spks can’t reach down far enough to allow you to hear the full scale, breath and depth of a recording - Sources are an audiolab CDT running into the beheld DAC and a Rega turntable for my vinyl addiction…So if your thinking of adding a sub I would highly recommend pulling the trigger on a REL King of sins still

Fantastic Sounds & Worth the Purchase
Bought the REL T5x a couple of weeks ago to improve the bass in my stereo setup. I have an AudioLab 6000A and B&W606 S2. I was happy with the sound but it lacked the low end bass that one cannot really expect of a bookshelf of this kind.
After reviewing many sub's on the market I came across a REL video on YouTube about the T/x series . The video was by John Hunter himself who is the design engineer for this product. The reviews online highly rated the T/x series so I decided to do a blind purchase and ended up buying one.
REL provide some very specific instructions and guidance on how to set the sub up and dial it in. Once properly setup it will change the overall listening experience! No matter what genre of much you listen to. In so many words -- The music comes alive!
I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a change in overall sound and if you like good bass.
Richer sounds delivered the product on time, the box came without any damage.
The only thing I regret was getting it in white! If I had a chance I would get it in black!

Great sounding, good looking unit.
This a definite step up from the old T5i, with bass being a little tighter and deeper. But the cabinet too has been improved, looking sleeker and more attractive. I use it with a pair of Spendor Classic 4/5 (sealed monitors that are about -6dB down at 55hz), and it suits them well. Fairly easy to integrate, but I'm definitely still playing around with that, in order to make it disappear. Even at this stage though, it adds an enhanced degree of bloom and presence to the speakers and fills in the bottom end nicely.

Retired my old REL Strata III after 20 years
After 20 years of service I decided to retire my old REL subwoofer and try the latest technology. Although smaller than the strata III the T5x performed a lot better as I would expect. I particularly wanted it for listening to classical and jazz music rather than movies effects on my cinema system and its met my requirements. Connecting the front speakers to the high-level input of the subwoofer is a must for me.
Delivery from Richersounds was superb, the day after I ordered it.
