360 spatial sound, delivered cable-free Much more than mere rear speakers, the Sony SA-RS5 use 360 Spatial Sound Mapping and up-firing speakers for intense, enveloping sound. Thanks to built-in rechargeable batteries, ‘wireless’ means precisely that. There are no connection cables from the soundbar or mains supply, letting you put these speakers precisely where you want.
Up-firing speakers for cinematic height For the sound of cinema, at home, these Sony speakers use up-firing drivers in each speaker. These push the sound upwards, where it reflects from the ceiling. This greatly enhances overhead sound effects. From a helicopter or spaceship to gunfire or tropical rain, overhead effects are so real they’ll have you ducking for cover!
Punchy sound Unlike many rear speakers, these Sonys have the bass presence to hit hard. 90 watts per speaker ensures they have all the power they need. The two-way design uses additional dual passive radiators to further assist the bass. This means that when the deep, rumbling engines of a spaceship or submarine pass overhead, the powerful effect remains constant from front to back.
360 Spatial Sound Mapping Pairing with the multi-speaker array, 360 Spatial Sound Mapping uses advanced processing to precisely direct the sound around your room. Working alongside Sound Field Optimisation, the speakers use built-in microphones to measure the ceiling height and distance between all the speakers. The result is immersive sound that’s precisely tailored to your room and all at the touch of a button.
Fully wireless Wireless connectivity means that the Sony SA-RS5 speakers connect to your soundbar without the need for speaker cables. Better still, you don’t even have to plug them into the mains supply. Built-in, rechargeable batteries offer up to 10 hours playback. A quick 10-minute charge is all that’s needed for 90 minutes play. Finally, you can enjoy rear speakers without the need for a nearby mains socket or unsightly cabling. Power cables are also supplied, for a permanent power source if you prefer.
Wall mountable Surround sound is best when the rear speakers are positioned high up. To get the optimal sound from these rear speakers, we recommend mounting them higher than your soundbar. Thanks to simple wall-mount fittings, it’s easy to position these wireless speakers at just the right height.
