SVS SB-1000 Pro (Black Ash)
Subwoofer
£639
”The SVS SB-1000 Pro is a cracking entry-level subwoofer that not only delivers an impressive performance, and affordable pricing, but also sports features usually only found on more expensive mid-range models.” ’AV Forums’ – Best Buy.
Cinematic bass
Combining a high-excursion, 12 inch woofer with a 325 watt Power Sledge amplifier, the SB-1000 Pro has the power with control to match. With a peak power rating of over 820 watts, the subwoofer effortlessly delivers the full thrill of cinematic sound tracks.
Keeping it tight
Despite its might, the SB-1000 Pro is subtle, too. A powerful magnet and well-ventilated chassis space means the woofer can move with speed and precision. This prevents a boomy bass from spoiling both music and soundtracks. The bass is there – but only when it should be.
Compact SVS design
As SVS’s entry Pro model, the SB-1000 Pro is compact and room-friendly. Without the need to worry about blocking a port outlet, the sealed cabinet is easy to position. Considering the 12 inch woofer, the cabinet is about as small as is possible, with rounded edges to further reduce the visual bulk.
Smartphone app control
Available for Apple iOS and Android, the SVS control app gives armchair, precision control of your subwoofer. From the comfort of your listening position, you get access to all DSP functions including volume, EQ, low pass filter, phase, polarity, room gain, custom presets and system settings. Connecting via Bluetooth*, full control is possible even when the subwoofer is out of sight. *Please note, Bluetooth is for smartphone control app only.
Built to stand the test of time
Featuring a robust, MDF cabinet, the SB-1000 Pro not only provides resonance-free, low distortion sound but is also built to last. The Black Ash finish provides a neutral setting to blend with most TVs and other speakers. A fabric grille is also supplied, keeping the woofer protected when needed.
Discover a whole new level of power and control from your subwoofer, with the SVS SB-1000 Pro.

Best Budget Sub
Just got this sub set up and it’s a steal at this price. It’s replacing a 13 year old BK Monolith (which was way to big for my room) and the advances in tech really show. The bass is incredibly tight and fills my room easily (4.5m x 3.5m). I’ve listened to a few choice scenes (Tron Legacy light cycle scene a standout) and it drops low, has precision and responds well with both films and music. Can’t be a better sub in this price point and for its diminutive size it packs an almighty punch.

5 star as alaways
Need to order a new speaker for our home entertainment system, and after doing research on the Internet, I found which sounds to be the most competitive and comprehensive of all sites. Excellent as always.

Skilful Chameleon
I needed a sub woofer to perform a very difficult feat - combine with stand mounted Kandy TR5's and Kandy k2 amp, k3 DAC and Cambridge CXC to provide music for both music and movies. The Tr5's are really engaging, simply lovely to spend hours listening to but they are just a little lacking in deep base and particularly for movies. However they are very musical, detailed and pretty fast so i needed a sub to complement them and to be able to keep up. No mean feat. I was almost put off by one online review that suggested the SVS would not be suitable for music, only movies. So i dug a little deeper and read numerous reviews. So glad i did. This sub does exactly what i wanted it to. It complements the Tr5's perfectly. It sounds cohesive and really well balanced providing extra bass that supports the music or special effects exactly what i was hoping for without dominating the room or the Tr5's. Perfect.

Excellent, Better than expected
Went into store for a demo and I was pleasantly surprised. Having read reviews about SVS subs having aggression and attack. Which it can do, but with the app (which was a big selling point) you can turn it down.
I spent the best part of a few days getting this to blend in and along with the app, it has done brilliantly.
Instore they were very helpfully and with the demo they left me to myself so I could experience the sub.
I ended up buying it there and then, I would highly recommend SVS 1000 pro, just enough to add quality to your music and movies!!!

Good from what I can tell
I have depression, so all my senses are numbed, including my hearing. So currently this subwoofer sounds mediocre. But I'm sure once my mood improves it will sound better.

Bought a subwoofer and the entire buying process was super easy. Couldn’t have done it without their amazing support guiding me through, even with specific questions.

Check your pictures are hung securely on the walls
Bought this on 16th January, 2023 from the Newcastle Upon Tyne store to replace an ageing REL Quake which is now in our conservatory connected to a Denon M38 mini system.
The SVS was left in its 'just left the factory' settings but the difference it made was instantly noticeable and promised huge potential as well as threatening to displace wall decorations!
I have left this review until now as I have recently had my 7.1.4 system professionally calibrated as the Denon 6700 amp needed to be set up properly as well. This type of electronic 'witchcraft' is outside my wheelhouse so was more than happy to have someone I know and trust to calibrate it all.
The sound is absolutely incredible for a system that is based in what is first and foremost our lounge and secondly our 'cinema room'. This sub is very much an integral part of that surround system and its presence is abundantly apparent no matter what the source material which in our case is predominantly movies all on physical discs, whether that be 4K UHDs, Blu-rays of DVDs, and OTA TV channels with occasional 'catch-up' TV programmes we may have missed.
The bass itself is crisp, clean and sounds perfectly positioned whatever it is we are watching and listening to, even CDs, the pace and timing are hugely impressive.
I have no hesitation recommending this product to anyone thinking of buying an extremely capable and very reasonably priced subwoofer especially if the intended use is to be in a lounge rather than a dedicated cinema room where more than one subwoofer may be preferable. Not that this sub is left wanting at all and comfortably 'fills' our lounge which is approx. 12ft by 26ft overall.
