Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for three-dimensional sound
Dolby Atmos and DTS:X use ceiling or up-firing speakers for three-dimensional and fully immersive sound. Whether it’s rain falling in a tropical jungle or the intense sound of overhead gunfire, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X put you in the centre of the action. DTS Neural:X offers an even more immersive sound, with a heightened sense of realism.
Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization for extra height, without the speakers*

Play any Dolby format and enjoy a more immersive sound with virtual height enhancement – using your existing speakers to deliver an enhanced sound. *via firmware update.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TChat from Yamaha AVs are a different league! Bought YAMAHA RX-A2A to replace my 4 year old Sony STR-DN10180. Sony AV did a good job and was great value for money. Since they haven't launched an upgrade yet, I was looking for a replacement to upgrade. Did lot of research, shortlisted the new Denon range as a suitable replacement. But as soon as I discoved the Yamaha range (thanks to online research coupled with Paul (@Cambs Richer Sounds), learnt about its history, the reviews, particularly for the Aventage range, I knew Yamaha was going to be my next buy. Unfortunately, A4A is too big in terms of depth, which meant I had to settle for A2A. I got lucky as only 1 unit of A2A was available in the wider RS stock n/w. Paul promptly blocked it for me by calling the Maidstone store. I've been using it for past couple of weeks, and its brilliant. I can hear so much more detail from Bower Wilkins M-1 (5.1) speaker setup. Just don't look elsewhere, get the Aventage range from Yamaha, it is the best!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Klonga from Surpassed expectations A real professional bit of kit that i will in no doubt NOT use to its full potential but it's opened up my ears to new experience. It's automated features in switching off enhancements for my record player, to switching then back on to Atmos 7.1 are exactly what I was after from a bit of kit. It has so many features that are way passed my understanding. Yamaha musiccast is excellent and linking to smart devices works really well. I would highly recommend a decent sub with it as well as using the YPAO which is very useful for noobs like me. It is an expensive bit of kit for home entertainment and I'm not sure how much of an upgrade is is from the 6 series apart from nah e the Aventage badge, still a happy bunny though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Daft Dave from Fantastic sound from Yamaha RXA2A I purchased this kit in November this year as I already have a Yamaha DSP 5 and have been impressed by the sound quality, this is another product that will blow your socks off, one thing I will say is your TV needs to be able to support this amp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MartinK from So good! I bought this to replace my Denon AVR-X2200W. The sound in comparison is so much more detailed, refined and natural. Good features and connectivity too. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone. Alex at the Nottingham store was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sunny K from Quality sounding Receiver. Best Buy under £1k. This Receiver is very easy to set up and sounds great. Follow the steps one by one to complete set up. You can also fine-tune the centre speaker and the other speakers. Very clean and straightforward front fascia and rear. I feel the binding posts are little too close together. However, it does not feel like Yamaha of old, the quality of the fascia and the slight lightness of the unit almost make you feel that it’s a slightly cheaper product. For example, the remote has a rubber texture on it, looks modern and feels good however, doesn’t provide that level of certainty like old Yamaha amplifiers did. Deep bass and the treble is rich, not the best sounding amplifier for Music, if you want music then you need a Denon - hands down. If it’s purely surroundsound that you’re looking for then look like further than the Yamaha as nothing else will come close to it (theatre) performance wise. The amplifier is crisp and very intuitive to use, very user-friendly settings and interface. You will not be disappointed. It’s just misses out one star to make it a 5 star product as the display is a bit small & The remote feels a lot cheaper than Yamaha of old.
