Blends sound and function like nothing else in its class
Exquisitely engineered, the real beauty of the Cambridge Audio Alva ST is how well it blends sound and functionality. Unlike many of its rivals, set-up is drama free and speed control is via electronic control (no need to manually change the belt). A built-in phonostage and Bluetooth output offer universal connectivity, letting you enjoy the top quality sound from any hi-fi, speaker system or even Bluetooth headphones.
Switchable, high quality Bluetooth aptX HD output
The top quality Bluetooth aptX HD output is a standout feature with the Alva ST. Bluetooth connectivity usually means a loss in sound quality but, thanks to the Alva ST’s aptX HD output, wireless sound is much higher quality. Working up to 24 bit/48kHz, the Alva ST delivers Hi-Res audio to beat CD – cable-free. For improved sound when not using the Bluetooth output, it’s switchable – reducing possible interference when using a cabled connection.
Built-in, switchable phonostage
For a fully analogue experience, little beats a cabled connection. The Alva ST features a switchable, built-in phonostage, so it connects to any hi-fi system with an AUX input. RCA phono outputs let you use any phono cable, allowing you to use longer or higher quality cables of your choice. If you already have a high quality phonostage, simply switch the output level at the rear.
Highly engineered tonearm
Rigid and low resonance, the Alva ST’s tonearm is every bit as thoughtfully engineered as the rest of the turntable. It features a detachable headshell, making it much easier to remove the cartridge – ideal for when you’re cleaning the deck and don’t want to risk damaging the stylus or for when upgrading to a new cartridge. With adjustable anti-skating, the rigid tonearm cleanly follows the record’s groove, giving you clear and lifelike sound.
Fitted with a legendary cartridge
Supplied fitted with the legendary Audio Technica AT-VM95E cartridge, the Alva ST is ready to play, straight out of the box. Detailed, musical and engaging, the cartridge makes listening to music fun. As part of the VM95 family, it’s easy to upgrade the stylus as and when funds allow. Simply slide out the old and slot in the new for an instant upgrade in sound (with optional VM95EN, VM95MK or VM95SH styli).
Easy to set-up and practical
With the cartridge already in place, it’s easy to get started with the Alva ST. Simply dial up the correct weight and anti-skating and you’re good to go. Once installed, a practical lid and push-button speed control make the Alva ST easy to live with.

Wow!
Bought the Alva St a bit worried it was too good a deal to be true from Richer Sounds but how wrong was I. Worth every penny. I’m using my Kef LSX speakers with Aux in from the built in Phono stage to one speaker, the rest is wireless. Works great with my B&W P7 Bluetooth wireless headphones for quiet listening, the quality is excellent all round and has transported me back to my childhood.. although vinyl definitely didn’t sound this good back then on my Dad’s Hitachi record deck. It’s like listening to Apple Music but with the missing soul and forces you to sit back and enjoy each song. Can’t wait to go out and build the collection.

Great turntable. Very well built and sturdy.
Bought this a couple of weeks ago as I was tempted by the Bluetooth option. Very well built turntable. Sturdy and looks built to last. Quick and easy to set up - even the balance. Early days but so far more than happy with the sound it produces. Had a shock when the price went down shortly after I purchased but I contacted Richer Sounds and they immediately gave me a refund for the difference. Now that is what I call great service. Thanks to all the staff in the Oxford store.

Beautifully engineered and great sound
Bought to replace an elderly Thorens TD 150 which had been ‘vandalised’ by my grandchildren. Wanted phono pre-amp and Bluetooth connectivity to link with my Sony headphones and with the KEF LSX II speakers I bought at the same time. Easy to set up but doesn’t always automatically connect with the speakers (too many Bluetooth devices around?) so decided to use a cable to link with the speakers.
Now enjoying rediscovering my collection of vinyl!

Such a great quality bluetooth turntable!
I bought the Cambridge Audio Alva ST turntable a week and a half ago, and it is such a great quality bluetooth turntable. The build quality is something else, in it's minimalist design, and in my view looks absolutely stunning. The sound quality over bluetooth is also extremely good to standard bluetooth speakers, which took me a bit by surprise, just how good they actually were. I can't wait to buy a pair of aptX HD certified bluetooth speakers to use them with, if the sound quality over standard bluetooth is as good as they are currently. Included with the turntable is an Audio Technica VM95 series green cartridge, which I am so impressed with detail it shows in the vinyl records that I'm playing, and although I'm new to Audio Technica cartridges and styli, I will definitely consider buying them in the future, going by the sound quality of this styli.

Awesome ALVA ST
I’d been looking for a quality turntable and rather stumbled across this from Cambridge Audio. I loved the idea of Bluetooth and built in phono, meaning I could listen to vinyl direct to my AKG headphones without the need for an amplifier. The sound is great and the unit really looks special. I didn’t find the set-up for the weight and balance of the arm as easy as I thought it would be (still not sure it’s 100% correct) but there’s no skating so I’m probably pretty close to correct. All in all I’d recommend it. I’m now saving for some Bluetooth speakers so I’ll be back in store soon. Many thanks.
