Switchable, high quality Bluetooth aptX HD output
The top quality Bluetooth aptX HD output is a standout feature with the Alva ST. Bluetooth connectivity usually means a loss in sound quality but, thanks to the Alva ST’s aptX HD output, wireless sound is much higher quality. Working up to 24 bit/48kHz, the Alva ST delivers Hi-Res audio to beat CD – cable-free. For improved sound when not using the Bluetooth output, it’s switchable – reducing possible interference when using a cabled connection.
Built-in, switchable phonostage
For a fully analogue experience, little beats a cabled connection. The Alva ST features a switchable, built-in phonostage, so it connects to any hi-fi system with an AUX input. RCA phono outputs let you use any phono cable, allowing you to use longer or higher quality cables of your choice. If you already have a high quality phonostage, simply switch the output level at the rear.
Highly engineered tonearm
Rigid and low resonance, the Alva ST’s tonearm is every bit as thoughtfully engineered as the rest of the turntable. It features a detachable headshell, making it much easier to remove the cartridge – ideal for when you’re cleaning the deck and don’t want to risk damaging the stylus or for when upgrading to a new cartridge. With adjustable anti-skating, the rigid tonearm cleanly follows the record’s groove, giving you clear and lifelike sound.
Fitted with a legendary cartridge
Supplied fitted with the legendary Audio Technica AT-VM95E cartridge, the Alva ST is ready to play, straight out of the box. Detailed, musical and engaging, the cartridge makes listening to music fun. As part of the VM95 family, it’s easy to upgrade the stylus as and when funds allow. Simply slide out the old and slot in the new for an instant upgrade in sound (with optional VM95EN, VM95MK or VM95SH styli).
Easy to set-up and practical
With the cartridge already in place, it’s easy to get started with the Alva ST. Simply dial up the correct weight and anti-skating and you’re good to go. Once installed, a practical lid and push-button speed control make the Alva ST easy to live with.

Exudes quality in build and audio presentation
After reading many reviews on brands that offered Bluetooth I settled on CA’s AlvaST as the one for me.when it arrived it was immediately obvious it was a solid piece of engineering. It was easy to set up and set the tone arm tracing and balance and the Bluetooth worked first time with mi headphones and Ruark R5. It’s all that I had hoped for with suburb tone and stereo separation.

Best £500 I have spent in recent years on Tech.
After a couple of months assessing turntables and reading all the reviews I eventually purchased a Cambridge Alva ST from Richer Sounds.
Very helpful staff and very polite when it came to wiring up turntables to listen to. Delighted with the Alva, just need a new Cambridge Streamer to complete the system.

Very well made deck.
I bought this to replace my old Pioneer deck which had eventually packed up after over 40 years good service. After a little research and a phone call to ‘Richer Sounds’ for some practical advice I opted for the Cambridge Audio Alva ST. It’s only just arrived, but I’m very pleased with it. Very straight forward to set up alongside a new amplifier, also purchased from Richer Sounds and my original Celestrion Dutton speakers, which are still going strong. Very well made, a nice finish and a real feel of quality when operating.

What a great turntable. Solid, quality feel. Great looking…and most importantly great sounding. It picks up detail, highs and lows. Some albums sound like I’ve never heard them before. Very simple to set up. Can connect to active or Bluetooth speakers

Great turntable at a great price. I like RS.
I am setting up a new HIFI and was having turntable trouble (I bought two [not from RS] and both were faulty. Both were returned for a refund. I went onto RS online and bought the Alva St. What a great turntable and what a great price!
I picked the day I wanted it delivered and it arrived right on time. I also spoke to RS on the phone and they were very helpful. I bought my new 4K tv from RS a little while ago so I knew I was going to get very good service.

Excellent turntable
Excellent turntable very pleased,I have a few cartridges so the ability to swap them with the detachable headshell is a boon Ifitted a audit technica detachable headshell angled one as the Cambridge audio one is always out of stock..this turntable is really well made and the speed control for swapping from 33 to 45 is just great

Great turntable, stylish and superb sound
I bought this only a few weeks ago, but am already so happy with my purchase. Set up was fine except after failing to get much volume the advisor at Chester store suggested switching the cables from the phono outlet to another outlet. What a result and simple solution. Great detailed sound. Very happy.
