What no gold?
Rediscovering Ohm’s law meant Chord switched from gold plating their speaker plugs to silver plate. Silver outperforms gold in terms of conductivity, meaning lower resistance and, hence, less signal loss. By happy coincidence, many of the Chord Company speaker cables also use silver-plating, thereby keeping the material consistent throughout the amp to speaker link.

Sound quality and ease of use.
Two weeks ago I bought a set of chord banana connectors and some B&W 400 speaker wires and let me tell you paired with my B&w 606 speakers and my cx61 cambridge audio amp they set it off so happy and the whole set up is from Richer sounds who always that me right. Not to mention price match,

I bought the Chord Company Ohmic with the Chord Company Shawline X speaker cable. The Ohmic banana plugs fit the speakers and amp perfectly, and partnered with the Shawline cable, has greatly improved the sound quality.
