Small put packing a mighty punch, the Fosi Audio ZA3 48V has the power to impress.
Versatile mini amp The Fosi Audio ZA3 48V is a powerful mini amp with stacks of versatility. Small enough to use within a desktop system, second system or simply as a great way to boost your TV’s sound, this compact amp has star talent. It also has fantastic upgrade potential. Switchable to mono, you can add a second ZA3 48V and enjoy a huge boost in power and sound quality.
Choose between stereo and mono modes Used in stereo mode, this minicomputer-sized amp produces room-filling audio. Simply connect a pair of speakers, an optional active subwoofer and your music sources and you’re ready to go. If you want to go louder and deeper, however, you need only add a second ZA3 48V. Switch both units to mono mode and you get a big increase in power and a more immersive soundstage, making this a powerhouse amp duo.
Powerful sound Although small in size, the ZA3 48V packs a mighty punch. In stereo mode it delivers up to 155 watts per channel (with 4 ohm speakers), easily matching or surpassing full-sized amplifiers around its price. Switch to mono and this extends to an amazing 235 watts (with a four ohm speaker), making it possible to drive the least efficient speakers to high levels, even in larger rooms. For as much bass as you can handle, simply add your choice of active subwoofer.
High quality components for low distortion Packed with high quality components from brands such as ELNA, NCC and WIMA, the ZA3 48V isn’t just powerful-sounding, it’s also exceptionally detailed for its price. The quality components help reduce background noise and distortion, giving you a purer and more consistent sound.
Balanced and RCA phono inputs Switch between Balanced XLR and RCA phono inputs for your source inputs. For your TV or conventional hi-fi source, RCA phonos give a familiar and high quality connection. If you have a music streamer, CD player or phono pre-amp with XLR balanced outputs, you can go one better with this studio-grade connection.
Compact yet cool-running Handling so much power from such a compact unit could cause overheating issues, but thanks to its efficient Class-D amp, aluminium casing and advanced heat dissipation design, the ZA3 48V keeps its cool. The entire body acts as a heat sink, with side vents helping to channel the heat away.
Enjoy high performance sound from a compact amp, with the Fosi Audio ZA3 48V.
Compact speaker legends don't get much bigger than the Wharfedale Diamond 9.0.
The original small hi-fi speaker Launched in 1982, the iconic Wharfedale Diamond speaker range is now in its fourth decade. All those years ago, it was the Diamond speaker that proved, for the first time, that excellent quality sound could be achieved from a small, budget speaker. Since then there have been dozens of imitators, but the Diamonds remain amongst the best of the breed.
Solid construction The cabinet isn't just compact, it's also very solid. This combination gives the Diamonds an extremely accurate sound quality as the cabinet doesn't flex or vibrate. Equally impressive are the drive units. A soft dome tweeter gives the clarity and smoothness of sound you'd expect from a more expensive speaker, while the woofer cone uses a carbon fibre type weave to offer extremely taut and responsive bass.
Surprisingly powerful With a front port, these bass reflex speakers are punchier than you might expect and in no way could they ever be described as tinny. Over all, they may be small but the sound is grown-up, with excellent staging, realism and surprisingly powerful.
Hi-fi connections It's not just the major aspects of the design that Wharfedale have got right, it's the details, too. Proper 4mm banana sockets will accept thick cable and offer the best type of connection. Threaded sockets at the rear make for secure and easy bracket attachment.
For superb-sounding, top value compact speakers, the Diamond 9 remains a gem.
