Unique DAC configuration
Marking this DAC player out as something very special, the Leema Libra deploys their unique Quattro Infinity dual-mono DAC modules. Rather than one or two, it employs multiple DACs (Digital to Analogue Convertors), all driven from a fully balanced data stream. What this means for the sound is that you get incredibly low levels of distortion, giving an intensely realistic sound. The DAC module is also upgradable, letting you keep your Libra while technology improves.
Class leading, digital connectivity
Whatever you’re looking to connect, you’re unlikely to find anything with the Libra’s comprehensive connectivity. For inputting your music there are no fewer than three optical and three coaxial digital inputs. There are also two, professional type I2S inputs via RJ45s, two AES/EBU inputs via XLR and a USB-B input for music from your PC. If these 11 digital inputs aren’t enough, the Libra goes on to offer full analogue connectivity, too.
Analogue inputs that let you use this DAC as a pre-amp
With three analogue inputs, assignable to RCA phono or XLR balanced, the Leema also functions as an analogue pre-amp. The fully balanced analogue stage is impressive in its own right and even includes a high quality headphone pre-amp. A slick, rotary volume control gives smooth, progressive volume adjustment, straight to your power amp or headphones.
Balanced input and output for reference sound
Making the most of the balanced pre-amp design, the Pyxis features both XLR inputs and outputs. Matched to a compatible source and power amp, these give the ultimate connection with the highest level of resistance to electrical interference.
Wide ranging file compatibility, including DSD128
The Libra is capable of converting Hi-Res music files up to 24-bit/384kHz and DSD128 via its Type-B USB and I2S inputs. 24-bit/192kHz and DSD64 files are supported by all the other digital inputs.
System synergy with LIPS link
LIPS (Leema Intelligent Protocol System) connects up various Leema products for system synergy. The protocol lets the individual units ‘talk’ to one another, giving intelligent operation. Switch on, and the linked Leema power amp, powers up automatically.
