LG 65UR91006LA
65 inch 4K Ultra HD HDR Smart LED TV Freeview Play Freesat
Local Dimming technology makes the LG 65UR91006LA’s picture stand out from the crowd.
Premium picture
Fitted with LG’s premium LED screen, the LG 65UR91006LA delivers detail that many TVs simply gloss over. Powerful processing ensures that the picture’s brightness is ideally matched to your room and that motion is smooth and focused. LG’s webOS Smart TV system also makes this LG TV a winner with streaming services.
Local Dimming for enhanced contrast
The LG 65UR91006LA uses Local Dimming for enhanced contrast. By dimming particular zones within the picture, superior contrast is achieved between light and dark sections of the picture. This improved contrast gives you a more natural, lifelike picture, with improved depth. Local Dimming also helps flesh out detail, making the most of this TV’s 4K HDR resolution.
Optimal detail, with HDR
With HDR compatibility, this LG 65 inch TV maximises media content, giving you the very best levels of detail. Compatible with HDR10 and HLG, this LG TV finds detail, even within the darkest areas of the screen, giving you a clearer insight into movies and a gaming advantage with your console.
See the picture exactly as originally intended, with Filmmaker Mode
If you’re mad about movies, you’ll love Filmmaker Mode. Designed in collaboration with filmmakers and Hollywood studios, Filmmaker Mode lets you experience the cinematic vision, exactly as the director intended. Overriding the TV’s own motion and picture processing, Filmmaker Mode presents the correct aspect ratio, colour and frame rate – just as the filmmakers intended.
Game Optimiser for enhanced play
More than just a winner with movies, this LG is the gamers’ choice, too. LG’s Game Optimiser utilises an enhanced gaming menu, giving you quick access to important settings. A selection of game genre presets, including one for sports games for example, tailor the image to suit the game type. Compatible with HGiG Mode and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), it’s optimised for HDR format gaming and delivers smooth game play.
Enhance the audio with Sound Mode Share
Tapping into the powerful Alpha 5 (Gen 6) processor, LG’s Sound Mode Share function combines the audio systems from this TV and a compatible LG soundbar. The result is optimised sound with crystal-clear dialogue combined with explosive sound effects and punchy soundtracks.
Smart TV made simpler, with webOS 23
Widely regarded as one of the best smart TV platforms, LG’s webOS system continues to be the system to beat. The latest webOS 23 is easier to use with new Quick Cards folders. These group related content together, making it easier to find the app or source you’re looking for. Recommendations and favourite apps feature on the home screen and are now bespoke to individual users for a more personal interface.
The hub of your home entertainment – with voice control
Featuring LG’s ThinQ AI technology, you can control a Home IoT ecosystem with natural voice recognition. With both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built-in, it makes it even easier to control your LG TV and quickly access the entertainment you’re looking for.
See what you’ve been missing, with the beautifully detailed LG 65UR91006LA.

Picture is great. Sound poor, need to use a sound bar. User manual has to be downloaded & is not much use. Took 2 hours to assemble & get apps & wifi working. Now I've got all that done very pleased with it..

Upgrading a Samsung 42" LED non-Ultra 4K
Ordered at the beginning of the month (paid full price) and delivered on Friday 15th September 2023. During that time the price had been VIP reduced, so I phoned up Paul at the Bournemouth office to see what could be done - Paul sorted out the refund immediately which is simply brilliant customer service - thank you very much Paul.
Now for the TV itself. You may feel things are going wrong right from the beginning when you are trying to autotune to satellite. It will go through about 15% to 20% of the channels (very slowly) and it will show NO CHANNELS FOUND. Now - don't be impatient like me and assume things aren't working and cancel. Keep waiting. All of a sudden it wakes up, starts finding all the channels, and it's all sorted in about 15-minutes. I have seen other people (online) have returned their TVs saying the autotuning didn't work even though the signal shown was good.
I don't like the sound much compared to the Samsung - and the REALLY annoying thing about changing the sound properties is that it throws you out of the TV program to make the sound change so you can't hear what effects the changes you are making actually have. The Samsung allowed you to hear real time changes. Same goes for changing the picture quality settings, so these two aspects dropped a star on my ratings.
I had to go online to find out how to record to a USB storage device and I really think that a basic manual should be supplied to cover fundamental things like that.
Setting up the apps (BBC iPlayer etc) was a doddle and this is a big improvement on the Samsung where itvX plus several other apps simply weren't available.
I must admit that during the setting up phase (and shortly after) I was thinking I'd made a mistake and was thinking of putting the Samsung back. However, in the cold light of day, it is clear that I will be able to end up with a similar picture quality (although it is going to be a long drawn out effort) to the Samsung. 50" compared to the 42" Samsung is no-contest, the LG wins all day. For the sound, I do have a soundbar (which I had bought for the Samsung) and the sound through this is great - I don't think I am going to get great sound from the TV itself no matter how long I spend playing around with the settings.
Oh yes, one other niggle, only 3 HDMI ports compared to the Samsung's 4. Why on Earth would you do that?
Overall I know I will end up being happy for this LG50UR being an upgrade to the Samsung - but for the various niggles given above, I don't think I would recommend to a friend.

Good standard tv
I only bought this TV recently and probably still need to fine-tune the settings to get the very best out of it. However, so far, it seems absolutely fine and is in line with my expectation, although I was pleasantly surprised by the sound that it gives off, which is much better than a lot of other modern TVs, the icing on the cake is this TV is that I have a six year warranty on it courtesy of my VIP membership. Excellent service by the guys in the Preston store too.

Easy set-up
I received this TV just 24 hours ago and spent some time setting up which is straight forward and logical. Picture is very good -a little 'soft' (sort out through settings). The sound is great - I have a cinema sound system. Now looking forward to lots of streaming.
