”An entertaining just-add-speakers stereo streaming system.” ’What Hi-Fi?’ 2021 award-winner.

A top quality amp that happens to be a first-rate streamer, too

At the heart of the PM7000N is a top quality amplifier that’s powerful enough for larger rooms but detailed enough for all music lovers. This is matched by a versatile network streamer that covers a huge range of options. These include Bluetooth, wi-fi, AirPlay 2, Internet radio, HEOS, Spotify Connect, Tidal, Deezer plus much more. You can even operate the amp with voice control – via Alexa, Google and Siri.

Putting quality sound first
Despite all its features, the PM7000N amplifier uses quality components for a graceful sound. This high-end Marantz amp uses a discrete current feedback design with Marantz's own HDAM SA3 and SA2 amplifier modules. Usually reserved for much more expensive models, these op-amps use surface-mount metal-film resistors for greater temperature stability. The upshot is a cleaner, less distorted sound, whatever the volume.

Hi-Res music compatible
The quality sound continues with the choice of internal DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor). Using the highly rated Asahi-kasei AK4490EQ chipset, the PM7000N is able to stream Hi-Res 192kHz/24 bit signals through all its digital inputs. Connect via the USB and the PM7000N also decodes DSD files up to 5.6MHz.

Room-filling power
Using a large toroidal power transformer and high value output capacitors, the Marantz PM7000N produces an effortless 60 watts per channel. This is ample for larger rooms and is ideal for getting the best from even the most inefficient speakers. If you feel your current system isn’t making the most of your speakers, then try this and hear just what they’re capable of.

Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, DLNA and built-in wi-fi for the complete networking experience
With both Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 connectivity, it's easy to connect all your smartphones, tablets and compatible lap/desktops and stream music wirelessly. The PM7000N also comes with wi-fi, Internet radio and DLNA. Simply connect to your home network via Ethernet or wi-fi and access thousands of Internet radio sites via vTuner as well as subscription services such as Spotify Connect (Premium Spotify account required), Tidal, Deezer and Amazon Prime Music. DLNA compatibility lets you stream from other sources such as your laptop or NAS drive.

Voice control via Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices
For the latest in smart home tech, Marantz have made the PM7000N compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices. Simply download the HEOS Home Entertainment Skill app and then just ask Alexa or the Google Assistant to perform basic functions. Using the Apple Home App, Siri voice control from your Apple iOS device brings added functionality over AirPlay 2 – including grouping devices.

HEOS built-in - for the finest multi-room audio
HEOS multi-room music systems connect together by dual-band Wi-Fi, making them easy to set up with your existing home network. Up to 32 HEOS units can be set up at one time, ensuring even the largest of homes are covered for multi-room music. With HEOS already built-in, the PM7000N is ready to go as a single 'zone' without any further adaptors.

Control it all with the HEOS app
Once you've set up your HEOS speaker system, you can stream music effortlessly via the dedicated HEOS app. Available for Apple iOS, Android and Amazon Kindle, the app not only lets you stream your stored music but also Internet radio services and popular streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal, Napster and Deezer.

Connect it all – including a turntable
For the highest quality network streaming, the PM7000N features a USB input – perfect for your computer, laptop or hard drive. For other digital sources, there are two optical and one coaxial inlets. Three analogue inputs are perfect for Hi-Fi components, with the dedicated MM phono input ideal for plugging in a turntable.

For the highest quality in network streaming, just add speakers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product So easy to set up, plug it in, I attached mine to a wired network. Firmware update was immediate and painless. Browsed for a server, it picked up my QNAP NAS (Twonky Server) immediately, and searching was quick and again, painless. Browsing for radio stations was also quick. In the space of 5 minutes, everything was done. I don't subscribe to any music services (Amazon, Spotify etc.) so cannot comment on that. I originally had this going into a pair of Mordant Short floor standers; they do take some driving though. But over all good. Upgraded to Diamond 12.1s and Sub, and it came alive. Although this is the cheaper of the Network player options, do NOT over look it. Money well spent and invested.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Sound! What a fantastic piece of kit! I was initially quite nervous about buying such an expensive amp but soooo glad I did. The sound is crisp and clear with ample bass. The operating system is easy to navigate so no worries. I use Airplay mostly which is bug free but Bluetooth stutters a little. Internet radio is excellent. Hooked up to a pair of Cambridge SX70’s and love the sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice sounding amplifier with great features I purchased the Marantz to replace my Arcam receiver. I wanted an amplifier with networking, allowing easy access to internet radio and music apps. The Marantz is perfect for this, and, combined with the excellent sound, is perfect for my needs. I would highly recommend it in any stereo system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Marantz PM7000N Integrated Amplifier After enjoying my existing Marantz CD receiver for many years, I felt it was time for an upgrade. After researching similar amps in a bit higher market sector, a few weeks ago, I purchased the Marantz PM7000N Integrated Amplifier, and I have to say that I am over the moon with the purchase. Likewise, I am over the moon with the CD player I purchased with it. I am running the amp through KEF Q550 floor standing speakers, which the PM7000N drives with ease. I like the full-bodied sound it produces, while still giving the feeling of it not getting out of control. The treble is clean and precise but not harsh, and the base is warm and deep. You can crank up the volume without compromising the overall experience and quality. I like the large 'Input Selector' and 'Volume' knobs, on the unit, along with the clear, informative display. I like to use the 'source direct' setting and leave the base and treble controls alone. But they are there if you prefer to use them. And the blue indicator light on the front panel is a good touch, to confirm that ‘Source Direct’ is on. Connectivity is more than adequate. I am a fan of optical and have my TV and CD player connected to the optical 1 and 2 inputs. the sound quality is stunning from both. I use the USB input to plug in my Memory stick, and Network input to plug in my LAN cable. There is a wireless option, if a wired connection is not available. I also like making good use of the internet radio and other external sources. I downloaded the 'HEOS' app, which as a minimum, you need to store you favourite radio stations, (TuneIn). Also, you can use it to manage all your favourite streaming providers, navigate through your USB media storage etc.etc. To sum up, the Marantz PM7000N Integrated Amplifier is powerful, versatile and has a certain finesse, and I like that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so very good I have had this for a bit more than a week now and I am very pleased with it so far. I bought it along with a CD player to replace a one-box, rather less expensive Marantz mini-system, which had stopped working (i.e. the reason wasn’t that I was dissatisfied with the sound of the previous system). I have so far listened to things the following ways: through an independent CD-player (Cambridge Audio AXC35), which on the advice of my local RIcher Sounds person (Craig) is wired to the Marantz by coaxial (because the Marantz should have a better DAC); listening to internet radio; listening to digital music I had downloaded through the USB input; listening to music via my laptop using Apple airplay. All of this is with (now discontinued) Monitor Audio Bronze BX2 speakers which I already had and loved. Observations: in all of the formats I have tried the sound is better than with my previous system and the same speakers. I am really pleased with the sound and have tried out a variety of classical music from solo harpsichord to large scale orchestral and orchestra + choir works, in records I already knew, and I felt it did well all the way. The connections which go through my wifi are much more reliable than with the previous system I had. Unsurprisingly, changes of source may require quick changes of volume. I have a remote for the Marantz and also the HEOS app (on iPhone). At the moment it feels a little fiddly because (I think) there are some things that are more easily done on one, some on the other, and the app can’t be used for absolutely everything without using the remote as well. But I hope to get more used to these and perhaps I am mistaken! I believe that I know what I like to hear, but I am not a great electrician/ techie, especially (perhaps) by the standards of people who write online reviews of hifi equipment. Craig at the Edinburgh store was helpful, tactful and supportive in guiding me through what I would need in setup terms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound I decided to upgade on my Denon DRA-800H paired with Dali Spektor 2's and Whafedale SW-150 subwoofer, and I'm glad I did. The sound quality has definitely improved, and the Marantz also looks better. Very happy with the purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound, matched with simplicity I'm really impressed with this amp. The sound on Amazon Music is exceptional. I'm hearing detail in tracks that I only normally hear in top end headphones. It's very simple to set up and the HEOS app is really intuitive and makes it easy to organise your favourites. It connects to my Synology NAS really quickly to play my locally stored music, and does a good job with low quality MP3s. A good buy all round. Thanks!
