Truly living up to their name, these are Acoustic Energy speakers by nature. The flagship AE520 model combines elegant design with mighty acoustic ‘slam’ for sound that’s hard to ignore. Much more than a simple powerhouse, the speakers are also refined and transparent when the music dictates, making them the ideal choice for music lovers of all persuasions.
A force to be reckoned with
Featuring no fewer than three woofers, all dedicated to bass, the AE520 delves deep into the music. The carbon fibre drivers are light and rigid, ensuring the tight and punchy bass that’s become an Acoustic Energy sonic signature. For free-flowing sound, the bass enclosure is ported by a large, rear facing, triangular port.
Dedicated to mid-range
With two separate mid-range woofers, each within its own sealed enclosure, vocals and mid-range instruments are reproduced in perfect clarity. The carbon fibre drivers have oversized voice coils, helping to deliver the most accurate and precise sound possible. The result is vocals that ‘leap’ from the speakers and breathtaking sense of realism from mid-range based instruments, such as piano and guitar.
Detailed and natural top-end performance
For seamless tonality between the drive units, the tweeter is also constructed from carbon fibre. Lighter and stiffer than typical hard dome tweeters, the top-end performance is lightning-fast yet natural. The tweeter’s surround incorporates a waveguide that helps seamlessly integrate the treble with the mid-range, giving a cohesive sound, throughout the frequency response.
Stylish cabinets, available in a range of finishes
The slimline cabinets have a much smaller footprint than typical flagship speakers. They also use 18mm thick RSC (Resonance Suppression Composite) construction to greatly reduce cabinet distortion that can colour the sound. Outriggers with spikes keep the speakers firmly in place. For the finish that best suits your décor, you can choose from Piano Black Gloss, Piano White Gloss and American Walnut wood veneer.
