Engineered to impress
With every element of the AVID Volvere SP so finely honed, it’s little wonder that this magnificent turntable has won so many awards. From its weighty platter with record clamp to its high torque motor with electronic speed control, each part of this deck impresses. Class-leading bass response
With heavy weight engineering, the Volvere SP delivers a strong bass response. Weighing 6.7kg, the Volvere SP’s platter is even heavier than the Diva models. The extra mass further improves the bass and dynamic response. The cork mat damps vibrations while the ultra-rigid platter aids pitch stability and keeps the sounds precise, crisp and detailed.
Near silent background
Several features help reduce record surface noise to a minimum. Beginning at the top, a unique record clamp grounds the record to the main bearing, allowing vibration caused by the stylus to pass through to the sub chassis. The bearing itself uses an ingenious design that’s devoid of lateral movement, massively reducing the ‘rumble’ noise that’s typical of turntables.
Outboard power supply for the cleanest sound possible
A separate, outboard power supply is always the mark of a high-end turntable and the Volvere SP’s doesn’t disappoint. Removing the power supply from the turntable means the transformer and electronics don’t interfere with the delicate sound signal. It also means a larger power supply can be used, helping to give the Volvere SP its clean and dynamic sound quality.
Higher torque motor for sustained dynamics
Around four times more powerful than a standard turntable motor, the Volvere SP puts its dedicated power supply to good use. Used in conjunction with AVID’s signature twin belt system, the platter is tautly controlled, giving punchy timing and incisive dynamics. For foot-tappingly good sound, it’s hard to beat.
Adjustable suspension for isolation
Thanks to its three-point suspension, the AVID Volvere SP delivers class-leading isolation. The suspension adjusts to suit whatever tonearm you use, ensuring optimum sound quality. The high level of isolation significantly reduces the chances of stylus skip and makes the deck much easier to place than an equivalent, non-suspended deck.
