Gaming, movies and TV on the big screen
For a truly immersive experience, bigger is always better. Optimised for screen sizes between 60” – 200”, the TH585 delivers a thrill far in excess of a big screen TV. You don’t need a big room for a big picture, either. A mighty, 100” image is possible with the projector under 3.5m away.
Lights on brightness
Advancing projector technology means that you no longer need to watch in darkness. Thanks to the 3500 lumens brightness, you’ll enjoy a crisp, bright image, even during the daytime or with the lights on.
Optimised for gaming
With a low input lag of just 16ms, the TH585 is ideal for smooth gameplay. A faster response makes you quicker to the draw in shoot ‘em ups and able to ace that personal best in a race. The special Game Mode takes the TH585 one-step further in making this the gamers’ choice of projector. Enhancing dark and shadowy areas, it helps you spot enemies and hidden treasure.
Thanks to 1.1x zoom, digital lens shift and auto vertical keystone, it’s easy to get just the right image. These technologies mean that the image isn’t just perfectly sized but that it’s also perfectly aligned and cropped.
Featuring twin HDMI inputs plus a VGA PC socket, you can connect up to three devices – perfect for a games console, Blu-ray player and PC. A USB interface powers an optional media device, such as a Smart TV stick or BenQ’s optional QCast Mirror stick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jski2 from Fantastic projector in price bracket Hi purchased through Richer Sounds Watford very Friendly service and good knowledge The BenQ Th585 is amazing for the money very bright in reasonable light and the picture quality is great The only criticism is the speaker is not too loud but run it through a sound bar and it’s just like. The garden Cinema it is used for I have a 120” screen and at 4m it filled the screen nicely love the functionality of it the picture adjustment, Display Function or 2x user presets then Bright, Sport, Game etc etc but all very easy to navigate The only other thing that is slightly annoying is the ceiling mounts you only have 3 holes that can be difficult with a 4 mount bracket but with a bit of clever manipulation this can be overcome But over all a really good buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lordjim1981 from Excellent projector I got this to replace a cheaper projector and difference is literally night and day, I can now enjoy watching during the day with the lights. I have tried it outside in a shady area and it is watchable on 80” screen but inside the picture is great. Only downside for me is that the usb slot does not play media, just powers my fire tv stick. Overall very pleased

Rated 5 out of 5 by dandead2002 from Excellent Projector, Good Brightness Purchased this for a bright office and the quality is fine but excellent with blinds closed and the room a little darker. Watched outside in the garden as a test and it’s OK in a shady area and very good at night but in a square green gazebo with sides up it’s excellent in all but the very brightest conditions. 5*

Rated 5 out of 5 by Donnchadh from Fantastic bright picture I bought this to replace a Elephas Q9, so this is my second projector. The Elephas despite false claims of 5500 Lumens would probably be more on par with 1000lumens now that I compare it to the Benq. The picture and brightness of the Benq are fantastic, it's very sharp and bright, great for our bright Ambient room, it works well in daylight, obviously not direct sunlight on the screen but very few projectors can handle that. One thing to note is that the angle of the throw is quite extreme, so if you are buying this for a coffee table it is perfect as that is what it is clearly designed for, but if you want this on a shelf more then 6ft high be prepared to have to angle it to about 30 degrees, even with the digital vertical offset maxed out its still extreme. Rainbow effect is quite strong at the start, but you get used to it, it's more noticeable the bigger the screen and how fast your eyes move across it, so reading subtitles on a 120in screen you will see flicks of it as your eyes move down quickly to read the text and back up to the screen. You won't find a better projector at a better price and Richer sounds is the cheapest I have found and believe me I looked around for about a month

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shamrock1988 from Great quality and great price. Decided to go for a projector instead of a TV. As it was my first time buying buying a projector, I wasn't sure if it'd "good enough", seeing there are many more expensive models. Turns out it works very well, the image isn't really watered down (something I was worried about in comparison to a TV) and setting everything up was dead easy. The darker the room, the better, but can still watch any time of the day. Paired up with Chromecast and spent my lockdown watching Netflix. Much recommended!
