Phono pre-amp and headphone amp combined
Combining a phono pre-amp with a valve headphone amp, the Fosi Audio Box X4 is perfect for a wide range of users. The phono pre-amp lets you convert the signal from an MM cartridge-equipped turntable to a line level signal. From here, it’s easy to output the signal to headphones, or a regular hi-fi system or active speakers, via the phono outputs.
The sound of valves
Utilising twin 5654W valves in the pre-amp section, the Box X4 has the warm and fluid sound that only valves can replicate. For a subtle change in sonic signature, you can replace the valves with other models (6AK5, 6AK5W, 6Zh1P and 6J1) at additional cost. Warmly glowing at the top of the unit, they add a visual warmth to the aesthetics, too.

Featuring low noise integrated circuits and high quality components, the Box X4’s phono pre-amp delivers audio that’s high in detail and low in distortion.
Input another source
As well as the turntable input, the Box X4 also features a 3.5mm AUX input. Perfect for a CD player, computer or other source, this further extends the Fosi Audio’s versatility, making it the ideal system hub.
Output to headphones or hi-fi
The facia-mounted 3.5mm headphone socket is directly connected to the valve pre-amp, giving ample power to most headphone models. Alternatively, simply connect to your existing hi-fi system or active speakers, via the RCA phono outputs. For sound that’s tuned to your taste, there are bass and treble controls.
