At the heart of this unit is a top quality amplifier with both analogue and digital inputs. With wi-fi, Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 on board, all your favourite services, such as Spotify, TIDAL, Apple Music and Amazon Prime Music are easy to access. There’s vTuner for Internet Radio and DLNA compatible network streaming, too.

The premium Marantz amp uses Marantz's own HDAM-SA3 (Hyper-Dynamic Amplifier Module) circuits. These bespoke op-amps use surface-mount metal-film resistors for greater temperature stability. The upshot is a cleaner, less distorted sound that’s delivered with perfect clarity.

With a handy 70 watts per channel, the Marantz Model 40n has ample power for room-filling sound. The double shielded, toroidal power transformer helps gives this Marantz amp sustained power, with low noise and quiet running – perfect for hearing every detail from your favourite music.

Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, DLNA and built-in wi-fi for the complete networking experience
With both Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 connectivity, it's easy to connect all your smartphones, tablets and compatible lap/desktops and stream music wirelessly. The Model 40n also comes with wi-fi, Internet radio and DLNA. Simply connect to your home network via Ethernet or wi-fi and access thousands of Internet radio sites via vTuner as well as subscription services such as Spotify Connect (Premium Spotify account required), Tidal, Deezer and Amazon Prime Music. DLNA compatibility lets you stream from other sources such as your laptop or NAS drive.

Voice control via Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices
For the latest in smart home tech, the Model 40n is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices. Simply download the HEOS Home Entertainment Skill app and then just ask Alexa or the Google Assistant to perform basic functions. Using the Apple Home App, Siri voice control from your Apple iOS device brings added functionality over AirPlay 2 – including grouping devices.

HEOS built-in - for the finest multi-room audio
HEOS multi-room music systems connect together by dual-band Wi-Fi, making them easy to set up with your existing home network. Up to 32 HEOS units can be set up at one time, ensuring even the largest of homes are covered for multi-room music. With HEOS already built-in, the Model 40n is ready to go as a single 'zone' without any further adaptors.

Control it all with the HEOS app
Once you've set up your HEOS speaker system, you can stream music effortlessly via the dedicated HEOS app. Available for Apple iOS, Android and Amazon Kindle, the app not only lets you stream your stored music but also Internet radio services and popular streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal, Napster and Deezer.

All the connections – from TV to turntable
In addition to the wide range of network streaming options, the Marantz Model 40n is versatile enough to accommodate everything from your TV to turntable. For TV there’s an HDMI with ARC. Games consoles and other digital sources connect via the optical and coaxial digital inputs. There are three RCA phonos for analogue sources, plus a recording output. For the best in vinyl, connect your deck to the phono input (MM).

Premium build quality
Pick up the Model 40n and you can appreciate it’s built to last. Using a thick, non-magnetic aluminium front panel and a steel top cover, the amp resists both mechanical and electrical interference. All the controls are finished to the highest standards, right down to the aluminium power button.

Derived from the flagship Platinum range, MPD III tweeters use a Micro Pleated Diaphragm to deliver stunning top-end detail. By pleating the tweeter’s shape, the surface area is increased eight-fold. Working by squeezing the pleats, like a super-fast accordion, gives the treble an incredible response – right up to an incredible 60,000Hz. What this means is you get uncompressed harmonics for a spacious and lifelike top-end performance.

Striking mid-range and punchy bass performance
Using RDT III (Rigid Diaphragm Technology), the twin woofer units deliver power with accuracy. The C-CAM cones reflect Monitor Audio’s long heritage with metal cone technology and are just as beneficial today as they were in the ‘80s. Metal cones are light yet extremely rigid, meaning they’re quick to respond, giving you an agile and punchy sound.
