Big screen entertainer
Imagine watching the big game on a scale that makes you feel like you’re in the stadium. Game as though you’re truly part of the action. Or, watch movies in cinematic scale. With the Optoma HD28e you don’t need to imagine – big screen entertainment is a reality. With an image size that expands right up to 300 inches, no TV can compete for big screen entertainment.
Room-friendly - outstanding brightness
Boasting an outstanding brightness figure of 3000 ANSI Lumens, the HD28e not only offers bright and vivid colours but is also able to be used in many lighting conditions. Even during daylight conditions with curtains or blinds open, the HD28e produces a watchable and detailed picture - something that can't always be said for older projectors.
Rec.709 for picture brilliance
Colour precision, resolution, frame rate and display specifications are all guaranteed by meeting one of the highest HD video standards seen in professional-grade home cinema today: Rec. 709. Instigated by the ITU (International Telecommunication Union), Rec.709 approval means a true cinema-like appearance.
Pin sharp detail from Texas instrument's DLP chip
Using Texas Instrument's DLP technology, the Optoma HD28e gives crystal clear clarity, sharply defined images and true, natural colour. With Full HD (1080p) resolution, the HD28e makes the perfect match for FHD TV, movies on Blu-ray and FHD gaming.
Impressive as the Optoma HD28e is in 2D, it's only when you take advantage of the optional 3D system that the picture becomes truly immersive. Just add the optional Optoma 3D glasses system, connect up to a suitable source and enjoy 3D images that are every bit as bold as at the cinema. The optional glasses are also fully rechargeable.
The take-out projector
Weighing just 2.5kg, the HD28e is easy to pack up and take around to a friend’s house or just store away until the next movie, gaming or sports night. A built-in speaker gives you audio, or use the 3.5mm audio output to connect to a speaker, soundbar or Hi-Fi system.
USB power to drive smart accessories
Featuring a handy USB power output, the HD28e can be used to power USB-powered smart devices, such as the Google’s Chromecast or Roku. Plug Chromecast, or similar, in and you’ll have easy access to smart video and TV services without the need for any other device or lengthy connection cables.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Fletcher1 from For the money this is the best The picture is as good as the average cinema but the sound is not so good but when matched with a cheap Logiteck Z4 system (just one plug in to the audio out on the projector) you end up with a true 5 star system thhhhhat i highly recomend

Rated 5 out of 5 by DM1964 from Excellent piece of kit I bought this to replace a much cheaper projector that I’d bought elsewhere. The difference is amazing - the picture quality is excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Squiddly from Huge improvement over my old projector This was an upgrade from a 12 year old 720p 1,200 lumens projector. Wow. It's like night and day. Literally, the old one you had to turn the lights off to see anything, and this one is fine in daylight in eco mode with the image at 58" diagonal. It's definitely quieter in eco mode, so I keep it on that, as the brightness is more than acceptable. There's a slight high pitched whine that you can hear once the main fan is turned down, but I don't notice it any more. Obviously, it's a very clear picture compared with the 720p. There is very little flexibility on distance, as the scale adjustment is almost non-existent. So you need to measure up where it will be placed. I'm about to get a bigger screen, so things will change. The unit is small and neat. I only needed one input, so that is perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kshah from Better than expected! Given that this isn’t the most expensive of projectors we were pleasantly surprised with the picture quality. The sound isn’t bad too though we will look to add a speaker system at some point. The projected itself is quite loud and gets quite hot but that’s the only downsides for us so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chips78 from Very sharp picture and decent contrast Bought this for an outdoor cinema project. Using a 120" screen and once it's dark outside picture is very good. Fairly easy to setup although its worth noting very little wiggle room in terms of placement. At this price point I'd highly recommend this projector.
