The finest sound quality
Although streaming music is now the most popular way of listening to music, a top quality CD player can demonstrate just what you're missing out on. Listen to your favourite piece of music on the Blak CD and you'll simply hear more of it. The Blak is so precise that you can now hear individually plucked strings, the breath of a singer between notes and even subtle noises in the studio. Thanks to the top quality components used it also offers a powerful, dynamic sound that makes streaming services and even lesser CD players sound compressed and 'shut-in' by comparison.
High quality construction
The main reason for the Caspian Blak's class-leading sound quality is the painstaking attention to detail shown in design and construction. Highlights include an anti-resonant chassis and fully isolated transport mechanism that prevent vibrations from being transmitted to the delicate laser transport. A super-precision master clock ensures the lowest levels of jitter, giving a pure and natural sound that's free from the 'digital harshness' than can afflict some digital players.
Balanced connections for a studio quality link
As well as standard RCA phono analogue and optical/coaxial digital outputs, the Blak CD player also features professional quality XLR analogue and digital outputs. Balanced XLR connections offer a superior connection that resists interference, meaning even lower levels of distortion - especially over longer connections.
Stylish, user friendly design
A clear display makes it easy to keep a track of your CD's information. The display is dimmable, so won't distract in lower light levels. The build quality is top notch with a thick metal front panel and solid casing for long-lasting appeal.
Designed without compromise, the Roksan Blak is second only to a live performance.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Morrie from Excellent CD player Didn't realize how poor my old CD player was until I heard this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Stewzykins from Sensitive I bought this a while ago to replace my Arcam player. My disappointment with it is that it skips easily over slightly marked discs whereas my one Arcam and two Dennon players do not. It has been back twice to Roksan under warranty but they give no explanation as to why their unit skips and my other three players do not. I guess the Roksan is just too sensitive and for this reason I would not recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mick2006 from More than nice I bought this to replace a Marantz CD7 player (google it) and I hate to say it but the Roksan is better. I am not going to rhapsodise over this player - an admirable analysis has already been done above. What I will say is that you should put the Roksan Blak CD player on your "must listen to" list because the only opinion which matters is YOURS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by CliffB from Outstanding CD player for the price I am mostly dedicated to an analogue front end but have had an evolving high end 2-channel system for decades that includes CD. I was after a new player that would bring CD playback bang up to date while retaining a proper musical rhythm, warmth, presence and reality that is so lacking in many digital sources. To price "match" the rest of my system I could justifiably have spent far more on a CD player but in the end decided that the performance offered by the Blak gave all I was after and I was not prepared to pay esoteric costs many times higher...we are looking at 16 bit 44kHz playback after all. The Roksan Blak was wired into my system through a Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista 600 amp and PMC 25.24 speakers. It was immediately much bolder and more confident in presentation than my older player and I did wonder if it might be a bit forward for me, but after giving it time to settle in and allowing my ears to adapt, I was actually amazed by the balancing act the engineers have achieved here. It is exciting and bold, but never trips over into too much and remains crisp and refined at the top end. I really can't take digital that grates on me with a dry or brittle top end. A Roksan Xerxes is my analogue front end and the Blak manages a similar sense of rhythm, pace and drive without overhang, congestion or bloat. In complex passages that can degenerate into a wall of noise on lesser systems, it just keeps its grip and plays the music. Also outstanding is how large and multi-dimensional the soundstage is. It places each element in a realistic space and never seems constrained or like it is oversizing a musical element. Literally seeing a band in front of you is part of what defines truly excellent 2-channel to me, and this player does it superbly. In simple terms the Blak has me exploring my large CD collection again and treating CD as a primary source again, rather than a poor relation, which is what it's all about. Before I forget, it looks great too! It has a kind of industrial, hewn from metal aesthetic, with simple, button controls and a decent remote unit. The connectors all seem solid and of excellent quality and the transport drawer is responsive and smooth. The display is great as it is clear and easy to read a long way off, but I find it a lot easier on the eye now I have turned the brightness right down.
