Product Information
The Sony HT-ZF9 raises the bar for immersive Dolby Atmos sound in a convenient package.
3.1 channel system with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X compatibility
Using Sony’s Vertical Surround Engine and just three front speaker drivers, the Sony HT-ZF9 reproduces ‘vertical’ audio to give truly uplifting sound! Compatible with both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats, this Sony soundbar gives incredibly immersive sound from a compact unit. Because this speaker doesn’t fire sound directly upwards, it doesn’t matter how high or what shape your ceiling is, making it truly room-friendly.
Upscale to 7.1.2 for ‘wrap around’ sound
Thanks to its sophisticated processing, upward firing speakers and separate subwoofer, the Sony HT-ZF9 gives a totally immersive sound – all from just two boxes. At the touch of a button, Sony’s advanced signal processing converts any audio signal into a pseudo 7.1.2 channel signal – totally surrounding you.
Dedicated, wireless subwoofer to focus on the bass
A separate subwoofer frees up the soundbar from the compromise of doing two jobs at once. Instead, it remains dedicated to the task of producing a holographic, 3D sound, leaving the subwoofer free to provide deep, cinema-like bass. What's more, with it being a wireless subwoofer you're free to position it anywhere within the room without the hassle of a connection wire between it and the soundbar.
Sound modes tailored to your viewing
No fewer than five tailored sound modes optimise the audio to whatever you’re watching. Cinema mode maximises the thrills and spills from action movies. Developed by PlayStation, Game studio mode gets the most from gaming. Sports mode makes you feel like you’re ‘there’ and part of the crowd while news mode is designed for the clearest dialogue. For the most detailed sound, switch to Music mode.
Hi-Res sound and DSEE HX enhancement
Compatibility with Hi-Res sound gives you ‘better than CD sound’ from high resolution music files. Stream over Wi-Fi or connect via USB and enjoy the highest sound quality from your DSD, FLAC and WAV files. DSEE HX Digital Sound Enhancement Engine upscales your existing music to near Hi-Res quality, squeezing out every last drop of sound.
Google Chromecast built-in
Chromecast lets you stream music, podcasts and audio apps, including Google Play, at the touch of a button. Having it built-in saves the battery life on your phone as the phone's Bluetooth transmission system isn't used for this purpose. Being able to stream straight from the cloud also gives the best audio quality.
Stream your music with wireless Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
More than just a boost for your TV sound, the Sony HT-ZF9 soundbar also makes a handy speaker for your music. Pair with your smartphone, tablet or computer and you'll be able to stream all your stored music and favourite streaming services such as Spotify, Deezer and Apple Music. Networking is further enhanced by Wi-Fi connectivity. As well as Chromecast this gives access to Google Assistant, Spotify Connect and DLNA streaming (Spotify and DLNA via future firmware update).
HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG compatible HDMI interface
Fitted with two HDMI inputs and one output, the HTZF9 is ideal for connecting a UHD Blu-ray player and games console or UHD TV streamer. Better still, the HDMI sockets are compatible with HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) formats, meaning that the latest UHD formats are all covered. Other inputs include an optical digital input, USB and 3.5mm mini-jack for your music sources.
Take your listening experience to new heights, with the Sony HT-ZF9.
