LCR speaker versatility
Being an LCR (Left Centre Right) speaker, the Founder 70LCR makes a truly versatile choice. As the name suggests, it can be used as a centre or satellite speaker, with the ability to work equally well in landscape or portrait modes. The sealed enclosure makes it easy to position, too, with the lack of a bass port making it possible to mount it close to a wall.

AL-MAG coaxial driver delivers authentic-sounding vocals
Featuring advanced speaker technology, the central coaxial driver reproduces natural and lifelike vocals. The cone uses an alloy of aluminium and magnesium (AL-MAG) for ideal sonic characteristics. The driver is mounted to the cabinet using Paradigm’s patented Shock-Mount decouplers, which isolate the sensitive mid-range driver from potential cabinet vibrations, giving an even cleaner and purer vocal reproduction.
AL-MAG tweeter for intense top-end detail
Fitted within the midrange, the dedicated tweeter is also packed with innovative tech. It also uses an aluminium and magnesium blend but with a ceramic coating for further enhanced performance. It has PPA (Perforated Phase-Aligning) for precise and accurate sound. In addition to this, the tweeter features OSW (Oblate Spherical Waveguide) that guides the soundwaves towards the listening position and away from the room’s peripheries, giving you a highly focused top-end response.
Smooth, consistent bass response
Although LCR effect speakers are never going to produce seismic levels of bass – that’s for the subwoofer – a strong upper-bass is important for special effects and soundtracks to hit with full impact. In order to achieve this, the Founder 70LCR uses two dedicated, 5.5 inch bass woofers. The CARBON-X woofers feature large magnets and ultra-high-excursion surrounds for deep, extended upper-bass. Gen3 ART (Active Ridge technology) deploys corrugated cone surrounds for greater cone excursion and higher sound pressure levels.
High efficiency design for wide-ranging system versatility
An exceptionally high room sensitivity (92 dB) makes these speakers easy to drive and undemanding for lower powered AV amplifiers. This makes them the ideal choice for pairing with AV receivers that deliver lower power outputs to effect speakers. They are also suitable for use with valve and pure Class A amplifiers, with power outputs from just 15 watts per channel.
