Improving upon an icon
Taking the legendary Silver as its basis, the Origin Live Zephyr tonearm uses a stiffer arm tube and higher grade materials to further improve the music’s definition and impact.
Single piece arm tube with high strength rear stub
The crucial job for any tonearm is to support the cartridge as rigidly as possible – while also allowing for friction-free travel across the record. By using a one-piece, aluminium arm tube, that’s exactly what the Zephyr achieves. Improving on the Silver model, the Zephyr model features a superior yoke design. With higher grade materials used throughout the tonearm, such as mirror polished, higher spec alloys, the enhance precision construction is reflected in the sound quality.
Low friction bearings
Using quality bearings in both horizontal and vertical axis, the Zephyr delivers smooth, low friction movement across the record. The bearings are fitted within a superior yoke design, with a precision fit that ensures minimal slack and a tight, well-focused sound.
Precision adjustments
Featuring VTA (height) adjustment, the Zephyr fits a wide range of turntables and cartridges. Using a falling weight side bias adjustment, the Zephyr achieves a constant anti-skating force, with lower resonance than alternative designs.
High quality cabling – inside and out
Internally, the Zephyr uses high-grade copper Litz wire. Cryogenically frozen to reduce discontinuities in the conductors, it helps improve the music’s transparency and detail. From the tonearm to your amp, the external cable offers low resistance and a high level of shielding for smooth continuation of the sound.
