A new level of screen brilliance – Mini LED TV
Mini LED technology pushes the boundaries of LED TV tech. By making the individual LED backlights much smaller, a larger number of them can be implemented. More individual LED lights means more, independently dimmable zones. The 75PML9506 actually has over a thousand zones, all independently adjusted for brightness. This gives a big uplift in contrast, brightness and detail, making picture quality more vivid and lifelike than ever.
Expanded vision with Ambilight 4-sided
This unique Philips technology enjoys its ultimate incarnation, with 4-sided Ambilight. Using intelligent LEDs all around the TV, colour from the picture is cast into the room – in real time. Colour, vibrancy and excitement move beyond the screen and into your living room to bring you a viewing experience beyond the ordinary, with this extraordinary Philips 75 inch TV.
P5 AI Perfect Picture Engine
The P5 AI Perfect Picture engine is the ‘brain’ behind the picture and even ‘thinks’ in a similar way to us. The powerful processor uses deep-learning AI algorithms to get the most lifelike images possible. Maximising detail, colour realism and smooth motion, the P5 AI engine optimises the Mini LED and Ambilight for a brilliant performance.
Gaming made better
With HDMI 2.1 connectivity at its heart, the Philips 75PML9506 has many features that makes it the ideal choice for gaming. Once connected to one of the two HDMI 2.1 compatible sockets, a low latency mode is automatically selected when beginning game play. VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and FreeSync are supported, giving you the fastest and smoothest response possible. Unique to Philips, Ambilight’s gaming mode brings another dimension of immersion.
HDR optimised, with HDR10+
For the highest quality picture, HDR10+ offers scene-by-scene HDR mastering for the truest, most accurate HDR picture technology to date. With HDR10+ each scene is optimised, meaning the maximum amount of detail is shown – even in the brightest or darkest moments. The 75PML9506 also supports standard HDR10 and HLG formats.
Dolby Vision for dramatic imaging
As well as supporting HDR10+, this Philips 75” TV is also compatible with Dolby Vision - a leading format in Hollywood and cinemas around the world. Dolby Vision also adjusts the picture to take full advantage of each display's characteristics and presents an optimized picture for each scene in specially mastered content.
Dolby Atmos compatible sound
With Dolby Atmos decoding, the Philips 75PML9506 has the potential to deliver a more immersive sound with a truly cinematic feel. Other sound enhancements include Clear Dialogue for enhanced speech, Night mode for reduced dynamic volume and Dolby Bass Enhancement for a richer sound.
Android TV for smart TV
In a complicated world of catch-up TV, Android TV makes sense of it all. Using a clear, intuitive interface, Android lets you effortlessly switch between Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, Disney+ and many other services. Android lets you pick up where you left off in the latest series or check out new movie releases – all without getting lost within complicated menus.
Voice control with built-in Google Assistant and works with Alexa
Working via the built-in Android system, Google Assistant helps you find content, apps and even controls compatible smart home devices, such as the Philips Hue lighting system. All this is available by simple voice command. Alternatively, connect your Amazon Echo or similar Alexa device and use voice commands via Alexa (Works with Amazon Alexa).
Beautiful design – right down to the leather-backed remote
Fashioned from high quality materials and styled to a premium standard, the Philips 75PML9506 stands out from the crowd. The feet’s polished metal edges contrast beautifully with the brushed metal bezel. The quality of design even extends to the remote control, which features a tactile, Muirhead leather-backed finish and backlit keys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kel Kel from Wow I absolutely love this TV The picture quality is amazing. Even the feel of the remote is just premium. It's everything and more that I wanted from a smart TV. Once you get used to the Philips Ambilight feature it's impossible to use another TV brand because of how immersive that feature is. I highly recommend this TV.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Woodbino from Great TV. Amazing new panel tech I was looking for something with the deep blacks like OLED but with few off the drawbacks. This seems to be it. Lovely and bright display that can be used for everyday family viewing in a living room, but when the evening comes and it's just the big people watching, this set really shines. The black levels are almost OLED like. To be fair if you didn't tel look me this was not an OLED panel I would have thought it was. Deep blacks. No halo effect (I have only noticed this when looking at the power menu on a blank screen, so an extreme circumstance), and sharp bright image with accurate colours. Rest of TV is great too. Seems well built and Android OS is sick and response. I would definitely recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Seryozha from Good, but imperfect software implementation At the old price of £2099 the 75"model appeared to represent good value, especially considering the 77" Philips OLED at £900 more. That said, the new price still represents a reasonable price per performance level – more of that below… Before plumping for this particular model, I outlined on the living room wall the size of a 65 and 75 inch set using some trusty black electrical tape. Wife and 8 year son were assembled to vote on preference and to my surprise my wife's casting vote came down firmly on the side of the 75 incher. My thoughts of hosting the less expensive 65 inch OLED were dashed, but would the size be too much and picture quality up to expectations? Ordering over the phone was easy and the courteous two person delivery followed within an impressive 48 hours. The guys clearly strained to get the thing into our living room, and once heaved into place my son could just about peer over the top of box, it’s big. In fact, I felt somewhat reluctant, scared even to release the beast immediately from its confines needing a day to reconsider. Wife remained adamant and so we spent an hour unpacking, easily attaching the wall bracket to the back of the set and not so easily lifting into place. It’s big, and heavy. Once cables were connected and mains current life breathed into the thing, all of us gasped with immediate delight, WOW. It’s big, heavy, and beautiful! It didn’t take long to see that Philips’ implementation of MINI LED tech is excellent. Gone was the backlight bleed, slightly washed out blacks and uneven lighting sometimes observed in the otherwise very good incumbent Phips 55 inch set, now relegated to kitchen duties only. With very little tweaking of the settings, out of the box this set will bowl you over with its picture quality. It’s not quite as good as the OLED’s I have seen. There is still a bit of backlight haloing around white text on black backgrounds, but by that time into the new “Dune” spectacular you won’t care. It delivers a barnstorming visual feast. 4k Dolby Vision, HDR and 120hz refresh rate are all supported which keeps the little one glued to his XBOX when convenient. There are plenty of picture tweaking options to keep grown ups playing, and sometimes frustrated too. I imagine anyone dropping this amount of hard earned on a telly would be integrating with a home theatre system as I do, or at least a sound bar and a few sources – SKY Q, Apple 4k TV, X BOX to name a few, and this is where the Philips reveals is less appealing nature. It’s a maddeningly confusings setting menu. Forget getting the set to switch sources accurately when using a single eARC HDMI with CEC control on (as is needed to use Smart TV sources for sound output. It was the best part of a week of fiddling, factory resets and checking online help forums before Dolby Vision and ATMOS over eARC were working properly. The set can’t really handle being fed by an AV Receiver into which sources are plugged and a single connection made to the eARC 120 HZ HDMI input. Connections will be switched when not wanted to – forget watching SKY when someone has recently been playing XBOX, or Apple TV which just kick back in, even when those sources switched off. Software then is buggy and for some that could be a deal breaker. However, after seriously considering returning this sometimes dim witted hunk, I decided to accept it into our home, like a young Labrador, full of fun but in need of taming. I sold the Apple TV and now use the very good App that comes bundled with the Smart TV. Also, watching Amazon Prime content on Android is easier than SKY. The XBOX now occupies the second 120hz HDMI input, eARC sound output back to the AVR is fine and the higher refresh rate is supported, whereas the AVR seemed to restrict it. Over the past 15 years we’ve always bought Philips, we got so used to Ambilight that just immediately restricted our choice and we don’t regret. We soon got accustomed to the large screen format and wouldn’t go back now. I recommend considering this set, whether it still represents good value at its new price point may need some serious consideration though. Before plumping for this particular model I outlined on the wall the size of a 54 and inch set, compared to the existing 55 inch Philips. Wife and 8 year son were sat down to vote on reference and to my surprise my wife's the casting vote came down on the side of the 75 inch monster. Ordering over the phone was easy and two person delivery followed within an impressive 48 hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by dazba from Amazing Picture Quality Purchased this Philips Ambilight Tv a few weeks ago now and feel I should write a review of my experience with it. The first thing that strikes you is the size of the screen, it’s quite a beast. The Tv is located in a room that is used just for movie viewing and video gaming. My main usage being gaming. I have a PS4 (HD version), PS3, Gaming PC and Amazon Fire Stick connected. I chose the Philips for it’s gaming capabilities, VRR and Freesync plus 2 HDMI 2.1 ports and 120hz. When I play a game on either PC or PlayStation the Tv goes straight into GAME mode. The results are staggering, smooth high res picture and rapid response time. 10/10 for gaming. The Mini Led technology is mind blowing and will give Oled Tv’s a run for the money. YouTube videos shot in 4K or 8K look amazing and Netflix shows in Dolby Vision are jaw dropping. I have a 50” LG HDR Tv in the other room and there is no comparison to the Philips blacks are PROPER black, amazing. The Tv also boasts HDR 10, HDR 10+, HLG and Dolby Atmos sound. The sound quality from the inbuilt speakers is very good and usable although I have the Tv connected to my trusted 5.1 surround sound system. If I am watching late at night then I use the Tv speakers ore just connect my Bluetooth headphones which also work superbly. Then there’s the Ambilight feature. Have to say I thought I would turn it off and expected it to be a littlie gimmicky. On the contrary I use it all the time and find it makes the viewing experience more immersive. It gives the Tv even more WOW factor. On the down side the Tv runs Android Tv operating system which is great for installing apps from the Google Play Store but the UK iplayers do not work. BBC iplayer, ITV HUB and All 4 will not load at all. My 5 does work though. I am told that this is down to some legal licensing that Android and Philips do not acquire at the present. The issue will be resolved with a firmware update in the near future. That said it is still very annoying. Another thing I should mention is the Tv does not handle reflections very well. If used in a very well lit room like a sunny day with curtains open you will see windows and household objects reflected on the screen. The Tv uses a VA panel and viewing angles are not great so bare that in mind before you buy. I watch the Tv on a sofa directly in front, and in a room with blackout curtains so the results are staggering. Another miner gripe is the remote. It is back lit which is great, but you have to press any button to activate the back light and it goes off again very quickly. The buttons are very small and is very easy to press the wrong button. All in all an amazing TV, I would definitely recommend it.
