A great upgrade in sound
The Audio Technica AT-VM95SH is tipped with a Shibata diamond stylus. Often used on high-end cartridges, this is fantastic feature to find on a cartridge at this price and sets a storming standard for sound quality. The carefully shaped stylus offers a wide contact area with your vinyl. A wide contact area means deeper bass, more detail from the top end and less damage to your precious records.
Optional 78rpm stylus
If you swap between 78 and 33/45 records, then why not get a dedicated 78rpm stylus. Designed to fit 78s’ groves more accurately, the VMN95SP stylus simply clicks into place and is a moment’s job to switch over.
Upgrade to DJ quality stylus
This flexible cartridge even accepts Audio Technica’s semi-pro stylus range. Ideal for DJ use, the ATN-XP7, XP5 and XP3 (all available via special order) are all ideal for DJ use. Simply click them into place and you’ll have a cartridge capable of withstanding the rigours of high tracking force weights and back-cueing.

Great sound
Great cartridge at a great price from Richer Sounds. I'm reliably informed that I need to run this cartridge for about ten album sides to really get it up to speed, but the sound straight out of the box is pretty good, so really looking forward to when it's run in.
I've upgraded from an AT-95ex and a Technics 270c and it sounds great on my Technics SL-D3.
I was going to buy the AT-VML95ML but couldn't resist trying the shibata at the discounted price.

The best available at a sensible price?
Bought the VM95SH couple of weeks ago from the Eton store.
This cartridge in my opinion is simply the best available in its price range of £149 discounted to £139 with the VIP club voucher. It’s fitted with an exotic Shibata line contact stylus - such styli normally only available on much more expensive cartridges.
It was purchased to replace an Ortofon 2M Red which is poor in comparison and most definitely not worth the £95 pounds it now costs new. I had considered a 2M Blue with its nude elliptical stylus, but just the stylus alone costs more than the VM95SH. To get a Shibata in the 2M range you need to spend nearly £600 for the 2M Black !!
This VM95SH sounds really superb, get it and don’t waste your money on the inferior value 2M range. You will not regret it.

Great Stylus and Cartridge at a great price
I am very pleased with the stylus and cartridge which I am using on my Technics SL-1200 turntable. Great sound for a great price.
I was also very pleased with the friendly service offered to me by Damien from the Brighton store, over the phone.

Great cartridge
I had been using a Goldring 2200 cartridge for a few years which has done a stellar job , I always wanted to try a shibata stylus and this was affordable, the Audio technica Surpasses itself with weight , detal and a lovely midrange, can't fault it and still running in , it tracks well and the treble is clean and clear ..A great buy
