The Emotiva BasX A3 is a 3-channel amp of exceptional value and ability. Use it to drive a 3-channel home cinema (Front/Centre/Rear with virtual surround) or as part of a multi-amp system to drive the centre and rear speakers or other surrounds.
Plenty of power
Using a tried and tested Class A/B amplifier, the Emotiva BasX A3 delivers smooth and consistent sound. With a mighty 140 watts per channel (all channels driven), the BasX A3 has the power to make the most of your home cinema speaker package. Use in stereo mode and the power increases to an impressive 150 watts per channel at 8 ohms or 250 watts per channel into a 4 ohm speaker.
Purity to match the power
Unlike some, digital only, power amps, the BasX A3 utilises an analogue Class A/B amplifier stage. This preserves the music’s emotion and ‘flow’ in a way that many digital amps struggle to convey. Designed with high current capacity and short signal paths, it promotes a highly dynamic, low distortion sound.
Quality connections
At the back of the BasX A3 you’ll find high quality connections for both inputs and speaker outputs. Heavy duty, insulated and gold-plated speaker sockets accept thicker cables and 4mm banana plugs. Inputs are handled by universally accepted RCA phonos which are, again, gold-plated for low resistance.
Sturdy build quality
The sturdy, steel case features a milled aluminium facia, giving it the visual muscle to match the room-filling sound.

Clarity and Precision in Driving LCR channels.
If you want more power to drive your front stage (LCR). Then look no further than the Emotiva basx A3. On a budget but don't want to compromise on quality or power. Then you could do no harm in looking at this mid range power amplifier. I've been running my own basx A3 in now for a week. Since offloading all my front stage handling from my Marantz cinema50 - don't get me wrong it's sound is warm, inviting and immersive - to the Emotiva basx A3. It's like a veil has been lifted and the fog cleared from the sound my system produces. With the additional power my thirsty 4 Ohm front stage Piega speakers require to be at their best. The Emotiva basx A3 helps them truly sing and reach their full potential. It's like night and day. The sound coming from them now, is more dynamic, the highs are more revealing, in your face and the bass is rich, deep, and fully rounded. It's a bass that you will feel in your chest, and feet. It's clarity refined without sounding boomy or over powering. This gem of a power amp for its cost to power ratio cannot be beaten at its current price point. It delivers on all fronts. I like to listen to my music or movies fairly loud (Steely Dan never sounded so good). The Emotiva basx A3 drives my LCR with ease and it feels like there is ample headroom to drive them further should I need to! My Marantz Cinema50 now just runs the surround speaker pair and my front height speaker pair, aswell as providing the connections for my powered sub woofers (3).the real star of the show is undoubtedly the Emotiva basx A3. By offloading some of the work from the Marantz to the Emotiva basx A3 my my entire system has now become more efficient at handling the audio visual stuff I throw at it. In short the Emotiva basx A3 is truly a king amongst Kings in my set up. I'm now looking at purchasing the basx A2 to power my surround speakers. The basx A3 has exceeded all my expectations in terms of power, sound and price! Oh and I forgot to mention, it looks stunning with its brushed dark aluminium chassis. Emotiva have a home run with this product and have truly hit the proverbial ball out of the ball park!!
