Introduce thunder to soundtracks with twin bass cones
The ten inch, long throw active C-CAM bass gives the Radius 390 a high tech appeal. The seamless, aluminium construction is light and rigid, giving a rapid response to changes in sound. Helping to reinforce the bass still further, a second ABR (Auxcillary Bass Radiator) at the opposite side of the sub uses energy within the cabinet to strengthen the bass. The result is bass that drops so low it's like being at the cinema.
Powerful 220 watt Class-D amp for total control
Keeping the thunderous bass under tight control is a high current Class-D amplifier. With around 220 watts of clean power, it has little trouble in keeping the bass cone under tight control. Bass starts and stops exactly when it should, with none of the wallow and boom that afflicts lesser subs.
Three pre-set EQ modes
With Music, Movie and Impact modes you can easily change the characteristics of the subwoofer to match your mood. For the most subtle sound, choose Music. A more dynamic sound is had with the Movie mode, making it ideal for the most intense action movies. If you're in party mode or really don't like the neighbours, then switch to Impact for the most powerful sound possible.

My radius 390 go faulty after 5 yers of use it, fortunately I had extended guarantee for it.
They took my bass and after couple of days I got new one !. Very good service, thanks !

Great subwoofer
Good looking subwoofer in piano black. It may not be the most thunderous which actually suits me but comes into its own in blockbusters which is where I want it to excel. This subwoofer will not disappoint.

The sound just gets better and better!
It's not been easy to find a replacement for my REL 5. Unfortunately, the circuitry has developed a fault, and it's probably cheaper to replace than repair, and be speaker-less for several weeks! And at the present time, there is a limited choice of available speakers. So, simply going on the advice that the Radius 390 will be compatible with my existent system, and trusting Richer Sounds advice, I went ahead and ordered this speaker. The delivery was very prompt, and it arrived in perfect condition. My AV amp is a Maranz and uses an auto set up for speaker configuration. This is easy to use, only needing quiet from the rest of the household! Subsequently, a little tweaking of the levels to achieve my preferred balance of sound, and the set up was completed. The handbook recommends "running in" the speaker for several hours, so that it may bed down and achieve its own perfection and balance. The resultant sound is now clean, clear, and well rounded, giving a full and natural sound picture. The tv programmes and tv films have a new excitement. My beloved classical cd collection has a new bloom and shine to the sound. I'm well impressed and pleased with the purchase. The Monitor Audio Radius 390 has given my listening pleasure a new dimension. If you need a great sounding "Woofer" and this matches your system, don't hesitate or think twice. You will be amazed!

I just had a problem with a subwoofer not working, don’t know why I worried I bought it from richer sounds, even after three years they replaced it without question great guys through and through

Big and Deep
Paired with Radius 260s (12 years old - sound and look new; so well built) I upgraded to a Demon 3600AV. Beautiful sound without unsightly 9+ speakers - as good for music and fully set up with online services and Alexa etc. Obviously comes into its own with films, but an impressive bass without distortion.

The addition of the Monitor Audio Radius 390 as a dedicated home cinema sub has made a huge difference. Movies are now felt as well as heard. Voices are clear, sound effects have added weight and explosions are immense. Bass roll off is stunning and slams when needed. Best though is how subtly it handles quiet parts. These are now filled with emotion and nuances never heard before.
The Monitor Audio Radius 390 is quite large, but I've managed to tuck it away. It is fairly heavy and in the gloss black, looks really nice.
Set up was easy and only need a few tweaks to get the sound to my liking. Out of the box and running in under 30mins. This was in movie mode only but more time would be needed for music.
The Monitor Audio Radius 390 is a quality piece of equipment. The dials click with slight resistance, making it easy to find the right setting.
Very happy to recommend this subwoofer.

Good but could be a lot better
Bought this as a HT5.1package. Probably the weakest link at almost £600 went for it as it matched the Radius speakers and was important to the other half. Don’t get me wrong it’s not bad goes pretty low and is quite quick. No remote. But not worth £600
I probably would have went for a BK Electronics sub.
